We are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join our Housing Management Team, who provide an excellent tenancy and estate management service to our local community.

As a Housing Officer, you will manage a local patch of properties in the Ashfield district. You will deal with all aspects of tenancy and estate management including providing advice and support to sustain tenancies, working in partnership with stakeholders, and taking enforcement action when necessary.

The role involves mainly working out on our estates in the district, visiting customers in their own home, and establishing good relationships across the community. You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, as well as the preparation of legal documentation and attendance at Court.

You must be organised and able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload with competing demands, be flexible to respond to unplanned situations and possess the problem-solving skills needed to deal with issues at pace and with accuracy.

The ideal candidate must have:

  1. Experience of working in social housing (Council/Housing Association/Registered Social Housing) in a similar role.
  2. Experience of working with the public and liaising with a range of stakeholders (voluntary/statutory and partner agencies).
  3. The ability to remain calm under pressure and to manage challenging situations.
  4. Experience of working within a team and proactively work towards joint targets.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  6. Ability to organise workload and to work with minimal supervision

This is a challenging but rewarding role that gives you an opportunity to work with a great team and positively impact the local community.

In addition, the benefits of the role also include:

  • 30 days’ annual leave (rising to 35 after 5 years’ service) + bank holidays
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Hybrid working – patch/office/home

To apply, please submit a CV and a separate supporting statement (maximum 3 pages) .

Please ensure you demonstrate clearly how you meet the 6 requirements outlined above in your CV and separate supporting document. Applications will not be accepted without a supporting statement.

Closing date: 19 July 2026
