We are looking for a qualified Fire Risk Assessor to help deliver our building safety programme across Sheffield City Council’s housing portfolio. This is a great opportunity to use your expertise to make a real difference for residents by carrying out Type 1 fire risk assessments, producing clear reports and helping services prioritise improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out Type 1 fire risk assessments across housing properties
  • Produce clear reports with recommendations, priorities and costings
  • Provide practical advice to Housing services on reducing risk
  • Manage site visits and report completion to agreed timescales

What we’re looking for

  • NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Assessor qualification or equivalent
  • Professional registration, such as IFSM
  • At least 2 years’ experience carrying out Type 1 fire risk assessments
  • Experience of working with local authorities, housing, fire and rescue, or similar public sector settings
  • Strong report-writing, communication and organisational skills
