What is the job role? The SHIP Co-ordinator will be responsible for leading on and delivering the Supported Housing Improvement Project (SHIP) across Lancaster and Preston over the next two years. The Co-ordinator will lead a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), including staff from housing standards, housing options, adult social care, fire and rescue service and housing benefits. The co-ordinator will have line management responsibility of the 2 x administrators and provide direction and guidance to other MDT members in relation to the project. The Co-ordinator will manage the delivery of SHIP to provide a joined-up approach to improving quality and standards within the non-commissioned supported housing sector. In particular, the short term or transitional market, where clients are provided with accommodation on a short-term basis, usually up to a maximum of two years. There is often a high turnover of clients within this market. The project will provide a range of skills and expertise from different services, that will help facilitate positive changes in the provision and management of supported housing across Lancaster and Preston.
Applicants should have experience of commissioning or management of supported housing, managing projects, producing reports and presenting to a range of audiences.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to visit supported housing schemes in Lancaster and Preston and travel to council offices.
As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data. Reasonable adjustments can be made for those who are unable to drive due to a disability.
This post is temporary until the end of March 2027. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday – Friday 9.00am-5.00pm. This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall.

The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to. When this role comes to an end, the successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role.

About the Role: 
An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join the Finance Service at Wirral Council. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join and support Treasury Management &amp; VAT team.
As a key member of the Accountancy team, your primary purpose will be to support the Senior Finance Business Partner to effectively manage the cashflow of the Council.
You will play a key role in the ensuring Council’s investment and debt portfolios are maintained in adherence to the risk minimising parameters within the Council’s Treasury Management Strategy.
Working with the Senior Finance Business Partner you will also help to ensure that the Council complies with all necessary VAT accounting and reporting requirements.

You will be the face of the Leisure Centre, and it is a great opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic, passionate and vibrant team. You will be confident and outgoing as your duties will include organising school holiday events and children’s birthday parties. You will also be expected to work in other areas of the leisure centre after appropriate training.
You will be offered work / shifts based around the centre opening times; 6:00am to 11:00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am-8.00pm at weekends. This post is based at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential for this post.&nbsp;
Full Lifeguard qualification training is available to the right person if required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Homeless Prevention Officer to join our busy Housing Needs Team.
The emphasis of the post will be to prevent homelessness wherever possible by providing support for customers at threat of losing their homes in a range of situations, including negotiating with mortgage lenders, social and private landlords, and social and welfare support agencies, whilst taking into account the clients housing and support needs.
You will be working closely with housing needs officers to contribute to the decision-making process under the national legislation.
Experience of assessing needs and offering housing advice to the public, including achievement of appropriate solutions to housing needs problems is essential as is multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working in relation to housing needs.&nbsp; It is also essential you have experience of working with landlords to prevent evictions and to enable clients to access good quality private rented accommodation.
It is essential you have the ability to work under pressure in demanding situations, including working with customers in difficult and stressful circumstances.&nbsp; It is also essential you have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

About the Role

You will be part of a supportive, established management team, working with a permanent manager and a social work assistant. About you
You must have a degree in social work – CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent – and be registered with Social Work England. You should have substantial and varied post-qualification experience working with children and families. Your experience should cover systemic practice, and you will need an in-depth understanding of legislative and policy frameworks, along with a willingness to learn and develop as a practitioner. Being a team player is essential in any social work team.

You will take a leading role in improving residents’ homes and communities by investigating housing complaints, inspecting and licensing houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) and taking enforcement action.
You will need:
<ul>
<li>Experience of regulatory housing enforcement (including HMO licensing), inspection, preparing statutory notices and schedules of work;</li>
<li>Practical experience of identifying and tackling hazards under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and enforcement in line with the Housing Act 2004;</li>
<li>Certificate of Competence in applying the HHSRS and;</li>
<li>An Honours Degree (2:2 or above) in Building and Construction/Construction Management, Surveying or equivalent qualification or experience.</li>
</ul>
