<li>Keep up to date and review relevant support plans, risk assessments and tools to support the staff team to deliver high quality support.</li>
<li>Liaise with families, professionals and key people with regards to day-to-day queries and updates.</li>
<li>Undertake regular quality assurance and gain feedback from staff, families and people we support.</li>
<li>To be a hands on leader, supporting the team to deliver a high standard of care and support, to include elements of personal care.</li>
</ul>

About the role…
We are looking for an Inclusion Officer to work with schools; RCC SEND and children’s services team; alternative providers and families to support children to ensure they are getting the best from their education, whatever that may look like. This will include working with schools and the schools’ support partnership to ensure that inclusive mainstream practice (IMP) and the graduated response is followed.
Please note, this is a fixed term contract until end of March 2026 at which point there may be the opportunity to extend the end of Augst 2026.
This post may be suitable for a secondment for internal colleagues, who should gain their current line managers approval before applying for this position.

The Role

VACANCY FOR INDEPENDENT MEMBER – AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE
Rutland County Council is committed to the highest standards of corporate governance, and our Audit and Risk Committee is a key part of ensuring that we meet those standards. The Council is currently looking to appoint an independent co-opted member of the Committee, to become a part of its work in promoting excellence in governance, risk management, financial reporting and counter fraud.
Independent Members will be expected to actively participate in meetings of the Audit and Risk Committee and demonstrate independence, integrity, objectivity and impartiality in their decision-making. As part of this rewarding role, they will support the Council’s Audit and Risk Committee in providing independent assurance to the members of Rutland County Council, and its wider citizens and stakeholders.
Independent Members are non-voting members of the Committee, who assist in overseeing internal and external audit arrangements, reviewing and scrutinising statement of accounts, and reviewing and assessing the governance, risk management and control of the authority.

The meetings currently take place at the council offices, Catmose House, Oakham. They will also need to commit sufficient time to read Committee papers in advance of these meetings, liaise with the Chair and to undertake occasional training alongside the other Committee members.

Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of sustainability, its application within an organisational setting and be able to take responsibility for delivery of project objectives. You will be confident producing reports, strategy and policy documents to a high standard and ensure they are suitable for the target audience. About the role 

As our Systems Development Officer you’ll be part of dedicated team within IT and Digital Services, leading and supporting a host of system-based projects while utilising your project, business, analytical and technical skills.
Working closely with colleagues, system owners, users and other stakeholders, you’ll bring your skills to the development, implementation, deployment, and support of the team, service areas, and wider council.
You’ll be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of various organisational systems to support efficient business operations and strategic objectives. You’ll be collaborating with internal stakeholders to assess system needs ensuring software and hardware solutions align with organisational goals and managing the lifecycle of development from inception to completion.
The Systems Development Officer is also responsible for ensuring the security, scalability, and continuous improvement of systems to enhance productivity, data integrity, integration and user experience across the organisation.
 Key responsibilities include: 
<ul>
<li>Providing specialist advice, technical support and guidance to internal users to resolve systems-related queries and ensure the smooth operation of council systems.</li>
<li>Delivering training and support to Service Areas and digital champions to promote digital literacy, capability and confidence across the organisation.</li>
<li>Undertaking full lifecycle project activities including system design, testing, deployment, documentation and ongoing maintenance.</li>
<li>Supporting procurement and supplier management activities, ensuring compliance with procurement frameworks, contractual obligations and licensing requirements.</li>
<li>Some flexible working and occasional out-of-hours work will be required.</li>
</ul>
About you 

A solution focused person, you’ll need strong technical expertise across system development, integrations, database management and programming languages.
You’ll be able to automate tasks and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, PowerApps, Python) and integrate different systems, applications, and platforms using APIs, middleware, and data exchange protocols such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and JSON.
Experience in working with non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and possess excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills is key to success.
Alongside this you’ll also be able to demonstrate having experience of researching systems, software and assisting in the design of digital solutions, supporting the full lifecycle of systems development projects, working with non-technical users to produce storyboards, scoping and user requirement documents and experience in training people in the use of systems and software.

You’ll travel to the people’s homes to support them with regaining skills and confidence to enable them to become more independent, actively promoting their choice and dignity.&nbsp;It’s an incredibly rewarding role, every day and every visit are different! You’ll work with autonomy and independence but within a close-knit team, and you’ll have regular support from the Reablement Team Manager.You’ll also work closely with other our health partners such as the intermediate care team.Shift Pattern:&nbsp;Cycle: 4 days on, followed by 4 days offShift Breakdown (per 4-day block):&nbsp;2 Morning Shifts2 Evening ShiftsTotal Weekly Hours: 16Shift Times: 16hrsMorning Shifts: 07:00 – 11:30Evening Shifts: 18:00 – 22:30At £14.88 -£15.68 per hour, depending on experience. &nbsp;Your office base will be Chedworth Close in Ecton Brook, Northampton.
