Are you looking to make a difference in children’s lives? Do you have experience of working in the Early Years and with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for one or two experienced practitioners to work with early years providers, schools and families to support the inclusion and promote positive outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Rutland, to start as soon as possible.

About you…

As the Early Years Inclusion Officer you will have:

  • Experience of working with children across the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework, the SEND Code of Practice and the Equality Act.
  • Experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • An understanding of a wide range of tools and approaches to support children and families with emerging needs
  • A confident and approachable individual with experience of working with families and a range of professionals to create positive outcomes

About the role…

As the Early Years Inclusion Officer your duties will include:

  • To carry out assessments in order to advise early years providers, schools, and families on strategies to support children with identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • To promote partnerships between early years settings, parent/carers and schools to ensure successful integration of children aged 0 to 5 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within their educational provision.
  • To work closely with a wide range of professionals in order to support the needs of the child and their family.
  • To collaborate with colleagues within the Early Years Inclusion Team to guide and support early years practitioners/teachers around early identification and the implementation of the graduated approach.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.

Please note: the hours are set at 37 per week, though we are willing to offer two part-time positions of 22.5 and 14.5 hours respectively, depending on suitable applicants.

Early Years Inclusion Officer interviews will be held face to face on 01 December 1025. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
