What’s the role?
Housing Services Directorate is looking to appoint an Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Team Leader to manage a team of six Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Officers responsible for offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 duties. Successful management of this service area will ensure we deliver a high quality, customer-focused approach to our applicants eligible for homelessness assistance and continuous improvement and efficiency in the service delivery. In addition, you will ensure officers complete S208, enforce offer of suitable accommodation, correctly undertake the discharge of duty and complete all other tasks relevant to their role.

What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Team Leader with a good working knowledge of managing a team responsible for offering accommodation under S188 and S193, Part 6 &amp; 7 of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002 and Localism Act 2011 and its application. You must have knowledge and understanding of the activities, functions and processes involved in offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 as well as issuing discharge of duty decisions.

We are ambitious with a clear strategy to deliver on our vision. This role is a critical part of delivering our vision. We are looking for a new Head of Private Sector Licencing and Home Improvement. What we’re looking for Reporting to the Director of Housing Strategy, the Head of Private Sector Licencing and Home Improvement will lead a service area that provides strategic direction for the Council’s housing improvement and assistance service and the property licensing and enforcement function. This is an area of the division with big ambition, as we have recently expanded our property licencing schemes and have seen an increase in applications from residents for support from our grants, specifically the Disabled Facilities Grant. Managing a service of up to 100 staff the post-holder will lead our ambitions to work proactively within the private rented sector to drive up standards and safety for Lewisham’s residents. With expertise in the legal framework of regulation and licensing, you’ll be at the forefront of operationalising our new licensing scheme, and will maximise their impact through innovative new approaches to engaging with our residents. You will also be responsible for utilising a home assistance grant of £2million a year to support our most vulnerable residents to live in safe and secure homes from which they can live independent lives. We’re looking for a strategic and inspirational leader, communicator and manager who can demonstrate strong experience of delivering an operational income-generating service, ideally with a background in commercial or regulatory and enforcement services as well as a strong background and experience in managing Disabled Facilities Grants services. There is the opportunity to undertake a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Regulatory Compliance with a focus on Housing.

We are transforming our services at Woking and are recruiting for several new exciting and challenging roles in our Housing Assets Team. Working within the Voids section of the Housing Assets Team you will have a high level of involvement in supporting the day-to-day aspects of our void operations and will be dealing with a variety of administrative support and enquires from our contractors.
You will be actively engaged with our main Voids Contractors, who work on the delivery of making void properties safe and secure for incoming tenants.
This role will require excellent communication, organisational and time management skills as you will be highly influential in delivering the very best service possible for our residents.&nbsp;&nbsp;
This role is a fully office based role with the successful candidate working from our Offices in Woking, Surrey 5 days per week.

Woking Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our busy and dedicated Housing Standards Team as a Housing Standards Support Officer on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Senior Housing Standards Officer, in this role you'll be responsible for supporting the improvement of housing standards across the Borough. You will provide advice and guidance to tenants and landlords, administer the licensing of properties within the Borough, arrange visits and inspections to properties, and support officers in taking appropriate enforcement action using a wide range of relevant legislation, including licensing, to reduce hazards in housing in the private sector.
We are looking for someone with experience in administration and an interest in the Private Rented Sector. This is a varied role suited to someone with excellent customer service skills, accuracy in data entry, and enjoys being part of a focused and driven team. It is important that you have a positive and confident outlook, experience of working with diverse client groups and can communicate accurately and effectively with a wide range of people.&nbsp;
In addition to administrative duties, you will also be involved in occasional visits to properties supporting Housing Standards Officers, supporting and attending meetings and forums, and other activities to support the requirements of this dynamic team.

About the Strategy &amp; Policy team

The Strategy and Policy team is responsible for the Mayor’s housing strategy for London and for developing policy across a broad range of areas including new housing supply, specialist housing, homelessness, rough sleeping, building safety and the private rented sector. In relation to new housing, the team works closely with planning and regeneration colleagues at a strategic level in the pursuit of mayoral and government ambitions for housing delivery. It also leads on policy development and&nbsp;supports&nbsp;government engagement for major housing programmes, including the new&nbsp;10-year&nbsp;Social and Affordable Homes Programme, which is in a crucial stage of development.
About the role
You will lead the Strategy &amp; Policy team to drive forward the Mayor’s priorities for housing and ensure that Londoners have access to safe, decent and affordable homes. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for a team of 20 to deliver the Mayor’s Housing Strategy and respond to London’s housing crisis. You will work closely with the Deputy Mayor for Housing &amp; Residential Development and the wider mayoral team to provide advice on strategy and policy, and support broad engagement with stakeholders – especially government. You will also work closely with senior leaders across Housing &amp; Land, the GLA Group, local and national government and the wider housing sector to support delivery of key housing objectives and programmes through strategic advice, policy development and analysis. You will need to cultivate these relationships to support effective delivery of the Mayor’s goals.
We are looking for somebody with the ability to be a visible and proactive leader for one of the Mayor’s highest priority areas. You will need the skills personally to analyse and shape the detail of what is required, but also to lead a high-performing team and make the most of their capacity to fulfil a very broad work programme. We are currently looking for a well-organised, self-motivated, strong team player, who has the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, to join our busy Housing Options team.
Your main duties will include checking and passing invoices for payment as well as providing various admin duties when required.
Home visits will also be a requirement to collect documents, agree repayment plans, chase debt or where fraud is suspected.

This is a management position within the in-house Assets, Repairs and Compliance service that will directly line manage a range officers delivering major and planned works, programmes of capital investment and sustainability schemes.&nbsp;Thurrock Council owns and manages a housing portfolio of approximately 10,000 residential properties of which is spread across all parts of the Thurrock borough in Essex. Job Description Salary: £32,490 - £36,870 per annum Grade D Permanent Contract 37 Hours per Week The Housing Assets, Repairs &amp; Compliance Team are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as Contract Support Officer. The team manage a range of contracts relating to housing repairs and maintenance including gas servicing, electrical testing, door entry, fire safety and disabled adaptations.As a Contract Support Officer, you will have the opportunity to help shape the service as we continue to strive to ensure that our housing stock is in good condition and is compliant with the required regulations. You will be supporting the Contract Managers with a range of tasks relating to responsive repairs, planned maintenance and servicing for our housing stock.&nbsp;You will need to be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multi-task and a keen eye for detail. You will also need to be able to demonstrate working individually and as part of a team with excellent time management to ensure that key tasks are managed effectively.
