Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

Brent Housing Management is seeking Temporary and Supported Accommodation Officers to help produce successful outcomes for our tenants.

It’s a fantastic time to be starting at Brent Council, as we are undertaking an ambitious transformation programme across the Council which puts our community at the heart of everything we do.

    About the post

As a Temporary and Supported Accommodation Officer you’ll support tenancies and clients in specialist accommodation such as New and Independent Living, Temporary Accommodation and Single Homeless Accommodation.

You’ll deal with a variety of tenancy issues, taking full ownership of the tenants’ journey and providing holistic person-centred support. You’ll take initiative in complex cases, driving successful outcomes that benefit tenants while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.

You’ll reduce stigma, improve the quality of services and increase positive perception. In addition to this, you’ll have access to training and career opportunities across the Housing Management Service.

    The ideal candidate

You’ll be committed to delivering successful outcomes for vulnerable people, and have a Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards one.

You’ll have a keen interest in Housing and an enthusiasm to learn and make a difference. You should be passionate about customer service and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.

It is also essential to your success in this role that you have good knowledge of housing legislation, as well as safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults.

We’re committed to creating a supportive and dynamic work environment where you can make a real impact.

We offer opportunities for professional development, a collaborative team culture, and the chance to be part of an innovative and forward-thinking organisation. Additionally, we operate a hybrid working model with office or on-site at least three times a week.
