The Spotlight Theatre are recruiting a Venue Technician with a sound bias. The Broxbourne Council venue, close to Hoddesdon High Street, has a host of first-class entertainment shows and events lined up with fun for all ages.
You will be responsible for the technical operation supporting The Spotlight’s busy events and entertainments programme.
You will ensure the smooth running of all technical aspects of productions (with a focus on sound), as well as support for a range of events including cinema, conferences and private functions. Duties involve rigging, setting up and operating sound/lighting and stage equipment according to the Venues busy programme.
This is a varied role including practical technical work and supervision of casual technicians. You will need to be great with people as well as having experience of large-scale technical work, including production experience.
You will have at least three years of experience working as a professional theatre technician in a multifunctional venue and have knowledge and experience of a broad range of technical theatre aspects such as sound, lighting, set building and stage management. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety issues, good communication skills, and be a team player with the ability to work flexibly. Electrical installation and formal backstage technical qualifications are desirable.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.

The successful candidate must have a passion for helping residents in all aspects of their lives and be able to remain professional and non-judgemental when dealing with complex needs and case work. You will bring specialist knowledge to the team, including but not limited to experience of delivering positive outcomes in substance misuse support services, experience working in mental health services, working with former offenders or those with complex needs.

Civil Enforcement Officer - (Ref: CEO)

We are looking for hard-working and dedicated people to help keep Broxbourne’s streets safe by joining our team of Civil Enforcement Officers.
Keeping children safe especially near schools, ensuring emergency vehicles have unrestricted access, as well as &nbsp;improving access to disabled bays and local facilities for less-abled people are essential aspects of this role.
The Civil Enforcement Officers ensure that drivers comply with these regulations as well as providing guidance. They play a vital role in ensuring good traffic flow, maximising available parking spaces and enhancing safety throughout the Borough.
The areas of responsibility include both on and off-street parking contraventions, as well as the smooth running of the Council’s pay and display car parks and on-street pay and display areas.
Excellent customer care skills are essential for this role. Applicants must be able to demonstrate good people skills often in challenging situations; they must be good team players and have basic computer skills. They must be prepared to work in all weathers on a flexible rota basis, which will include weekends and bank holidays.
A manual driving licence is required. This role requires a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English&nbsp; &nbsp; is essential in this post.

Curriculum Development Manager

Ealing Council have an exciting new opportunity as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer available on a full time basis.Ealing Council Property Services delivers comprehensive building maintenance and facilities services to around 130 buildings across the borough. This is an opportunity to join the Electrical Maintenance Engineering team who carry out repairs and maintenance to electrical installations and building equipment within the Council’s commercial properties.As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will:· Make site visits, investigating faults and carrying out repairs and/or reporting back required remedial works· Assist in preparation of costings for quoted works including assessing requirements for labour and materials· Liaise and work in close partnership with Property Services’ mechanical and fabric engineering teams and sub-contractors to provide a comprehensive electrical engineering service· Provide a high level of customer service to a broad range of Council stakeholdersSuccessful candidates will have the following:· City and Guilds, NVQ Level 2, or completion of electrical apprenticeship – required minimum, City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or Maintenance – desired.· C&amp;G BS7671 2018 (18th Edition) – required.· City and Guilds or EAL 2391 or 2394/5 Inspection and Testing (desirable).· Full UK Driving Licence· Working knowledge and experience of maintenance and repair of electrical installations ideally across a commercial portfolio· Inspection and Testing experience, including completing EIC, MEIWC Certificates and EICR reports.· Understanding and working awareness of Health and Safety regulations and systems including asbestos awareness, working at heights and PPE· Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work schedules· Ability to form positive relationships with colleagues and work flexibly as part of a team· Effective verbal and written communication skills including completing job reports in plain English· Computer Literacy including use of handheld PDAs and Microsoft Office packages.Ealing Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. The Role – Make Every Stall Count
As a Senior Officer, you’ll be on-site for the majority of your week, leading operations, managing frontline teams, supporting traders, and delivering visible impact in one of London’s most vibrant public-facing services.
This role blends commercial insight, service leadership and public engagement — you’ll play a vital part in our borough’s street trading success.
You’ll be:
- Managing day-to-day market operations — ensuring smooth running, great customer service and high standards on-site
- Coaching officers and crews&nbsp;to deliver confident, values-led service 
- Supporting traders&nbsp;with licences, pitch support, queries and set-up 
- Driving commercial growth&nbsp;by increasing occupancy and supporting new traders 
- Monitoring compliance, resolving issues, and escalating enforcement where needed 
-&nbsp;Leading income recovery&nbsp;— reducing arrears and supporting fair trading
- Reporting defects, obstructions and urgent risks&nbsp;to protect the public realm

-&nbsp;Ability to manage licensing, inspections, trader engagement and on-site resolution

- Comfort with outdoor working, manual handling, and physical movement across sites
