This significant investment enables local authorities to set up pioneering Health Determinants Research Collaborations (HDRCs) between local staff, the community, and researchers to work together to address knowledge gaps in local areas. The HDRC is a new element of research infrastructure funding from the NIHR’s Public Health Programme based in local government.&nbsp; The purpose is to enable local authorities to become more research-active, undertake new research and use existing evidence to inform our decision making, and undertake evaluation activities. There will be a central focus on health inequalities and actions to tackle issues faced by disadvantaged groups and areas.&nbsp; About the Role: The Data Scientist Manager will lead the&nbsp;data workstream that seeks to support whole-system linked data across local government, NHS partners, higher education institutes and other local agencies (e.g. police) for epidemiology, modelling, decision support and evaluation; and demonstrate the power of data science and connected data for evidence-based decision making within the Council and with partners. <h2>About the role</h2>
The Head of Financial Scrutiny role will oversee the scrutiny work for around half of the Assembly’s Committees, including the Budget and Performance Committee and Audit Panel. &nbsp;The position leads a team of around 10 scrutiny researchers to deliver high quality scrutiny work in a wide-range of projects, research, briefings, reports and outputs for the London Assembly, its committees and its Members. 
As Head of Financial Scrutiny, you will also be responsible for planning and delivering high quality budget scrutiny during the Mayor’s annual budget cycle, and also developing broader financial scrutiny work across the year. &nbsp;You will support policy researchers within the wider Scrutiny team to include financial scrutiny in their work. 
This role is a varied one. It will have responsibility for overseeing the Budget and Audit Committee teams. However, it will also oversee some broader Committee scrutiny work that has no direct financial element. 
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a committee staff on some of the most important committees in the London Assembly, and to have tangible impact on the delivery of scrutiny work and the transformation of financial scrutiny in the team. 
We are looking for someone with excellent research, analysis and drafting skills and experience of using them in a senior role. GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

This builds on the Councils Routes off The Street (RTS) strategy to ensure that all people rough sleeping in the borough receive a service offer which means they no longer have to sleep rough and can start rebuilding their lives in their home area. The role will carry a case load of people who rough sleep and who may experience multiple disadvantage who require additional support and an intensive casework intervention to access or accept housing and support. This can include in their home area, ensuring they are linked with appropriate services to sustain the outcome. The role will work dynamically with the Routes off The Streets, the multi- agency Hotspot Team and the Connect Forward Team Leader to prioritise and target cases identified by these teams or referred to them by these teams. The role will work closely with our off-the-streets accommodation services and severe weather emergency protocol (SWEP) provisions, ensuring timely and sustainable move through focused, multi-agency coordination and advocacy where needed. For this reason, the reconnections team will be empowered and self- directed, offering innovation and building solutions with other delivery partners without the need for supervision. In support of this approach, the team will have access to a Camden personalised budget fund (CPBF) to support each reconnection plan.
