    Job introduction

    Job title: Educational Psychologist

    The role:

    Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit Educational Psychologists to join our team of EPs, Assistant EPs, and Trainee Educational Psychologists. We welcome applications from qualified Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists who are due to qualify in 2026 or 2027.

    We are a flexible and family friendly local authority. Working hours can be managed flexibly between 6:00 and 22:00, with opportunities to accrue additional leave. All of our Educational Psychologists are given agile working kits that enable them to work remotely in any setting.

    This is an exciting time to join a team with opportunities for individuals to further develop areas of interest and expertise. Our Educational Psychologists are actively encouraged to contribute strategically to policy development, city wide initiatives, and corporate aims. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in a city that is committed to improving the outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

    We offer a supportive peer and senior supervision process and encourage continued professional development, peer mentoring, and autonomy in the development of innovative initiatives. In addition to supporting schools and settings, there are opportunities to work in specific areas, including social inclusion, early years, the virtual school, electively home education, C.M.E., parent forums, and underrepresented groups.

    We are looking for individuals who:

    • Are flexible and creative
    • Have excellent communication skills
    • Can work as a team but also autonomously
    • Are efficient with good time management skills
    • Have an extensive knowledge of psychology and be motivated to make a different to local communities!

    Salary: Educational Psychologist Soulbury Officers Scale A Points 6 to 11, plus up to 3 Structured Professional Assessment (SPA) points. Existing SPA points will be honoured.
