Workforce and OD Officer 

Medway Adult Education is passionate about supporting adults in Medway to gain skills and qualifications to improve their life chances. Typical duties:

About the role 
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our highly motivated Financial Services team, where continuous improvement and value for money are a priority.
This is a key role to &nbsp;where you’ll be providing financial, commercial and strategic support to Service Managers alongside project support for the transformation of services.
The main focus of this role will be to support our Housing Revenue Account (HRA) services.
The role will be office based with the option of hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in the office.
Responsibilities will include -

<li>Provide finance business partnering to stakeholders across the organisation.</li>
<li>Build strong working relationships with budget managers by spending time working closely with services to enhance the finance offer.</li>
<li>Advise budget managers and Chief Officers on various financial matters that could include the usage of grants and reserves.</li>
<li>To Support the annual budget setting process, working with Lead Accountants to ensure that a balanced medium-term financial plan/capital programme is delivered in accordance with legislative requirements and accounting standards</li>
<li>Assist the budget monitoring process, with responsibility for supporting budget managers and Chief Officers, producing and presenting Finance and Performance reports for the target audience</li>
<li>Assist with the production of the Council’s Financial Statements, Whole of Government Accounts and the external audit</li>
</ul>

About you 

This is a great role either for someone who’s an experienced Finance Business Partner or similar, or someone with the aspirations, skills and abilities to be one.

Alongside a minimum of AAT qualification (or other equivalent qualification) you’ll need experience of working in a finance environment and be competent in the use of a financial management system to produce budget reporting, annual accounts and financial statements in accordance with the CIPFA Accounting Code of Practice.
You’ll need excellent stakeholder communication and management skills, being a great communicator including being able to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff.

The LABC Academy Programme is a two-year programme that provides the opportunity to learn on the job working towards level 4 and level 5 diplomas in building control surveying whilst gaining on-the-job experience with a local authority building control department. &nbsp;
Throughout the programme you'll earn a competitive salary and on completion you'll have the skills, qualifications and experience required to become a Registered Building Inspector as well as the opportunity to progress to become a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor or Building Engineer.

What is the job role? The job involves providing transportation for some of our most vulnerable people across Coventry. Disrepair Manager
Lead the way in resolving disrepair and improving homes in Croydon
Croydon is one of London’s most diverse and dynamic boroughs, and we are transforming the way we deliver housing services. Following our self-referral to the Regulator for Social Housing in 2021, we have worked to improve housing standards, rebuild trust with our residents, and strengthen our compliance. In April 2025, the regulatory notice was formally lifted marking a significant milestone in our improvement journey.
Now, we are investing in specialist teams to tackle disrepair, enhance compliance, and deliver safe, well-maintained homes for every resident. We are looking for an experienced and driven Disrepair Manager to lead our disrepair service and play a key role in this transformation.
About the role:
<ul>
<li>Managing a team of disrepair surveyors and support officers.</li>
<li>Investigating and managing disrepair claims Leading on the investigation and resolution of disrepair and Environmental Protection Act (EPA) claims.</li>
<li>Analysing data to identify trends and drive service improvements.</li>
<li>Overseeing contractor performance and ensuring value for money.</li>
<li>Collaborating with tenancy teams, legal services, and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Reporting on key performance indicators and ensuring compliance with the Disrepair Protocol.</li>
<li>Managing customer complaints and using feedback to improve service delivery.</li>
</ul>
About you: We are looking for someone with:
<ul>
<li>Significant experience in housing repairs, disrepair claims, and contractor management.</li>
<li>A sound understanding of the Disrepair Protocol and Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.</li>
<li>Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement improvements.</li>
<li>A relevant construction or building qualification (HNC or equivalent).</li>
</ul>
