Disrepair Manager

Lead the way in resolving disrepair and improving homes in Croydon

Croydon is one of London’s most diverse and dynamic boroughs, and we are transforming the way we deliver housing services. Following our self-referral to the Regulator for Social Housing in 2021, we have worked to improve housing standards, rebuild trust with our residents, and strengthen our compliance. In April 2025, the regulatory notice was formally lifted marking a significant milestone in our improvement journey.

Now, we are investing in specialist teams to tackle disrepair, enhance compliance, and deliver safe, well-maintained homes for every resident. We are looking for an experienced and driven Disrepair Manager to lead our disrepair service and play a key role in this transformation.

About the role:

  • Managing a team of disrepair surveyors and support officers.
  • Investigating and managing disrepair claims Leading on the investigation and resolution of disrepair and Environmental Protection Act (EPA) claims.
  • Analysing data to identify trends and drive service improvements.
  • Overseeing contractor performance and ensuring value for money.
  • Collaborating with tenancy teams, legal services, and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting on key performance indicators and ensuring compliance with the Disrepair Protocol.
  • Managing customer complaints and using feedback to improve service delivery.

About you:
We are looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience in housing repairs, disrepair claims, and contractor management.
  • A sound understanding of the Disrepair Protocol and Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • A relevant construction or building qualification (HNC or equivalent).
