    The Role:

    The receptionist role is vital to ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all visitors, families, and staff. As the first point of contact, you will play a crucial role in creating a friendly and professional atmosphere

    • As a receptionist your primary responsibility will be to greet and welcome individuals with a warm and friendly demeanour, making them feel valued and comfortable. You will provide accurate information about the Children's Centre's services, programmes, and events, ensuring that visitors and families are well-informed
    • Effective communication management is an essential part of the role of receptionist. You will answer phone calls, take messages, and transfer calls to the appropriate staff members. Your clear and concise communication skills will help in providing prompt and accurate information to callers
    • Appointment scheduling and room bookings will also be part of your responsibilities. The receptionist will assist in scheduling appointments for families and coordinate room bookings for staff and partner agencies to ensure the smooth running of services available at the centre. You will ensure rooms are ready to use in line with bookings and resources needed are available including refreshments if needed
    • In addition, the receptionist will contribute to the smooth operation of administrative tasks. This includes sorting mail, helping to manage office supplies, and maintaining records via the children centre referral recording systems .
    • The post holder will be expected to work with a flexible approach, maintaining confidentiality at all times when dealing with service users/staff information. The post holder should be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills, strong organisational and time management skills and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • We are looking for a professional, friendly team player to work with the existing team who is enthusiastic, motivated and with a proactive and can do attitude
    • Overall, your role as a receptionist is crucial in creating a positive and professional first impression, managing communication effectively, and supporting the administrative functions of the children’s centre
