We are seeking a Control Operator to work in our busy Lifeline office. Lifeline is a support service for the elderly and vulnerable tenants and residents of Charnwood Borough Council. Controllers are alerted to customers’ needs by the activation of a pendant or pullcord which sends an alert to the Lifeline monitoring center. The controller is required to ask questions to assess the nature of the emergency and decide on the action to be taken.
Action could involve calling the appropriate emergency services, talking to the appropriate medical professionals, or contacting family or carers.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
This service is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service, 365 days a year. You will work an average of 24 hours per week, the role is shift work and includes a night, an evening, afternoon, and a morning shift. This includes weekends and bank holidays as per the rota. Some shifts will require lone working. Out of hours you will be responding to calls for emergency repair requests from tenants living in the borough.
The successful candidate must be able to deal calmly and confidently with a variety of situations and always remain polite and courteous. You must have the ability to work using your own initiative.
You must be a confident, clear communicator and able to respond in a manner which ensures trust in the service we are providing.
Candidates should have a knowledge and understanding of handling sensitive personal information in line with Data Protection.

 The Post

Brent Council declared a climate and ecological emergency in 2019 and pledged to do all in its gift to achieve carbon neutrality in the borough by 2030. In 2021, the council’s Cabinet approved Brent’s Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy (2021-2030) which set out our objectives and areas of focus for tackling climate change, including a major focus on consumption, resources and waste. This is an exciting time to work in Brent on the waste and recycling agenda. We are in the process of implementing food collection services across the whole of Brent. There are several reuse and circular economy projects getting underway in our ambitious Green Neighbourhoods Pilot areas.&nbsp;

The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Waste and Recycling Manager to join our team temporarily during the maternity leave of our current manager. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact while working alongside a talented team.&nbsp;
As the Waste and Recycling Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing waste management and recycling programs, ensuring compliance with Simpler Recycling. You will take the lead in managing food waste collection rollout to flats above shops and help with waste diversion from flats and communal properties to improve recycling in the borough.&nbsp;You will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to develop waste reduction strategies, increase recycling rates and contribute to council's sustainability goals and objectives.&nbsp;

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Birkdale High School is a popular and successful all-boys’ 11-16 comprehensive Academy with an excellent reputation, outstanding pastoral care and consistently above national average academic results.&nbsp;
The Data and Examinations Team is made up of an Assistant Head Teacher in charge of pupil outcomes, a Data &amp; Examinations Officer and a Data &amp; Examinations Administrator (current vacancy). This team is responsible for all internal data collection to help the school monitor the progress of our pupils. This includes in-class assessments, reading test results and production of in-school analysis of current learners’ progress data. The team is also responsible for the facilitation of all external examinations including GCSEs. This involves strict adherences to all JCQ guidelines at the same time as organising a large team of invigilators to ensure that exams run smoothly and that all access arrangements for pupils with additional needs are catered for accordingly.
The Governors are looking to appoint someone who is highly organised and efficient, capable of working on their own initiative, and has a good sense of humour, all of which are necessary to be successful in this warm and friendly team.
