About the Role

Are you an experienced Child Protection Lead who is looking to expand your experience outside of school and in innovative local authority?

Ealing Council have an exciting new opportunity for a creative and flexible thinker with extensive knowledge and experience in education to be at the heart of the social work reforms. At Ealing Council, we are committed to restorative and relational practice with families who we encourage to lead assessments and plans. The reforms encourage building trusting relationships with schools and other partners.

The Educational Specialist in the Multi Agency Child Protection Team will work closely with colleagues to assess, make decisions and plans for children and their families who are in need of help, support and or protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer support, guidance and consultancy to DSL in schools and other education settings
• Ensure legal compliance and compliance with the new working together arrangements
• Promote and champion the rights of all children
• Collaborate with partners to gather information and make informed, timely decisions.
• Take part in strategy meetings and reflective discussions across the service
• Promote a strong culture in learning, development and evaluation

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

• The role of a Designated Safeguarding Lead
• Understanding of schools (cross phase) and how children are supported
• Work with other agencies
• Working at pace with an attention to detail
• Collaboration and negotiation skills
• Ability to gather, scrutinise and interpret education based and social care data
• Report writing.
