Part of the garden is a former chalk quarry and it was no doubt the fascinating topography that led its founder to choose it as the site to build a broad collection of trees, shrubs, bulbs, alpines and other herbaceous specimens from around the world. Many of these plants were collected in the wild and some were among the first of their kind to be grown outside of their native environment. The garden was set up as a charitable trust by the gardens founders and Worthing Borough Council was made the sole trustee. Your role will be to form part of the team of four horticulturists that care for and maintain this prestigious collection. We are recruiting for a Bereavement Services Officer to assist with the day-to-day operation and provision of the service including, Cremation and Burial paperwork, leased memorials, filing, typing; to provide cover for sickness and leave: to assist with reception duties and to provide support to the Cremation Technicians, which could include training to carry out cremations. You will undertake burial and cremation administration. This will include entering of information into bespoke databases, working with mapping software and undertaking searches of registers. To research and prepare letters, e-mails etc. relating to grave ownership, memorials and permits. To assist with the administration of memorials, including the giving of advice to members of the public and other visitors; selling and ordering; checking and auditing; cash handling. Applicants will undertake witness strews and chapel duties which will include the operation of music equipment and curtains, ushering mourners, occasional cleaning, liaising with funeral directors and families and taking some small services in the grounds. Midday Supervisor

The High Peak South Adult Social Work Long Term Team are based in Buxton and we are seeking to recruit an experienced full time Social Worker to join our friendly community-based team of Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners. The successful candidate will be expected to work their 37 hrs Monday to Friday each week. The team are highly supportive and operates on a largely agile, flexible basis across High Peak area of Derbyshire, utilising link worker and champion roles to carry out Care Act (2014) face-to-face and telephone assessments and reviews. The Construction Team is one of several that report to the Head of Works within the Assets &amp; Environment Service which, in turn, sits within the Place, Economy &amp; Environment Directorate.The work of delivering construction projects on corporate properties requires the Team to works with a range of clients from within the Council such as Education, Adult Services, Northampton Children’s Trust and external partners and tenants. WNC delivers a high profile and wide-ranging capital programme to improve its existing assets portfolio and create new assets such as schools, commercial units and cycling &amp; walking infrastructure to ensure effective and practical environments for the benefits of our community, frontline services and end users, some of which are vulnerable adults and children. Therefore, the role provides a high degree of job satisfaction through the creation of tangible social, economic and environmental benefits that contribute to the objectives and priorities in the Council’s Corporate Plan and are inherent in many of the projects being delivered. &nbsp;&nbsp;The role also enables the Council to fulfil many of its statutory obligations such as building safety, working, living and care standards and the provision of school place. You will have an excellent telephone manner when dealing with enquires from members of the public and Elected Members, along with excellent communication, analytical and written skills to enable you to deal with enquires efficiently.

The ability to work on your own initiative and in an organised manner, along with a flexible approach to working hours are all key requirements for this role.

The Job Role:
Rochford District Council is looking to appoint a positive, enthusiastic, and proactive individual to the exciting role of Neighbourhood Team Operative. This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated and hardworking Open Spaces Team. Being versatile and self-motivated is essential.
During your role, you will be striving to successfully execute grounds maintenance requests within our open spaces and on public highways with support from the Open Spaces Grounds Maintenance Team.
As a Neighbourhood Team Operative, you will be engaged in all aspects of Horticultural work including the use of tractors, heavy grass cutting machinery, tree, shrub and bedding planting, hedge cutting, renovation of sports pitches as well as assisting in the day to day challenges of grounds maintenance. It is essential for the successful candidate to undertake Health and Safety checks and Risk Assessments, and to be able to professionally communicate with people of all levels, from co-workers and contractors to residents.
It is also essential for a successful candidate to be able to undertake physical and demanding work in all weathers, of all seasons. Work within the Open Spaces Team can be challenging, however; this is outweighed by the sense of pride and the self-rewarding nature of working as a part of a team within the horticultural industry.
