Roles are either ‘site based’ or ‘home based’.

Site based roles are mainly based at the workplace, with the option to work from home for up to two days a week, depending on service needs.

Home based roles are mainly based at home, with the expectation of attending the workplace up to one day a week.

The working arrangement for each role is set by the manager, based on service requirements.

Job IntroductionCommunity Learning MK is recruiting a dedicated Health and Social Care Tutor to deliver courses that help adults and young people aged 16 and above build skills, gain qualifications and move forward in their lives. You’ll be part of Milton Keynes City Council’s Community Learning service, supporting inclusive learning that responds to local need and improves life chances. Our work helps create stronger, healthier and more inclusive communities across the city.This is a rewarding role where your teaching will directly support residents to achieve qualifications, develop confidence and take positive steps towards employment, further learning and personal goals.

Health and Social Care Part-time (18.5 hours per week): £18,640 per year (pro rata)

Site-Based

This is a Site-Based role, you will be expected to work from the designated workplace.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Health and Social Care teaching using approved planning and assessment methods.
  • Adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of learners from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
  • Support adults and young people aged 16 and above to achieve their learning goals and gain relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Work closely with Curriculum Managers and colleagues to support quality improvement and positive learner outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate learner records to meet funding and inspection requirements.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and online safety throughout your teaching.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture that supports continuous improvement and learner success.
Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience teaching Health and Social Care within further education, adult learning or a similar setting.
  • Holds degree-level qualifications or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • Has a recognised teaching qualification at Level three or Level four, or is willing to work towards one.
  • Understands quality standards and inspection requirements within education and training.
  • Can build positive relationships with adult learners and support them sensitively and effectively.
  • Is confident delivering learning both face-to-face and online.
  • Shares our values and works in a dedicated, respectful and collaborative way.

As part of the pre-employment checks, should you be offered the role, we’ll carry out an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, (unless you are currently registered with the DBS Update Service).
