What will you be doing?

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Kent Pension Fund for a Training Officer with the Pensions Section. The vacancy is for the post KSH Training Officer within the Pensions Technical & Training Team. The role is full-time, permanent, advertised for 37 hours a week, although applications from part-time applicants willing to work a minimum of 30 hours a week are welcomed. The primary location for this role is Maidstone, Kent, whereby the successful candidates will undertake hybrid/remote working. Applications from both internal and external applicants are welcomed.

The Pensions Technical & Training Team ensures the compliance of the Local Government Pension Scheme regulations by developing and delivering training and supporting materials to ensure the team can carry out their roles effectively and provide accurate information to pension scheme members.

The post-holder will work with others to coordinate, identify, source and develop appropriate training and development solutions for the Pensions Section. The post-holder will ensure new regulations and changes to national/local pensions policy are incorporated into training material. The post-holder must have excellent presentation skills as they will also be expected to deliver effective training across multiple platforms, including face-to-face, via e-learning, online webinars and workshops, online communication on MS Teams, etc.

The post-holder will be required to apply their professional experience in pensions administration in undertaking this role. As such the post-holder will have extensive experience in local government pensions administration with experience in pensions administration software such as Altair, or similar. Interviews are likely to commence 27th July 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a presentation to the interview panel, the exact subject to be confirmed, but will be related to pensions administration.
