<h2>About the role</h2>We are looking to recruit a well organised &nbsp;Project Support Officer to support the newly formed Domestic and Sexual Abuse and VAWG Team to deliver on the implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and support the coordination specific projects. &nbsp;The team leads on a broad range of work which ranges from capacity building with community groups, commissioning services, facilitating the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) to leading on Domestic Homicide Reviews.&nbsp;The successful candidate will provide excellent administration support &nbsp;to the Team and provide support to the MARAC when required to ensure a seamless service. We are seeking a highly competent and motivated individual to support the Council with energy and environmental improvements. The role will involve the development of standard specifications for maintenance works to include consideration of utility saving measures, policy/process mapping development, review of upcoming legislation to assess risks against asset portfolio and supporting work on Climate related projects to help the Council meet Net Zero Targets. It will require the post holder to provide technical advice and support on energy, water and climate issues to Council stakeholders.&nbsp;You will need to be aware of all applicable legislation, strategies and policies.
You will be part of a dynamic team that manage the Council’s utility portfolio and lead on the Council’s response to the Climate Emergency. This post will involve supporting the team leader (EEMS Utilities and Climate Officer) in the delivery of the team plan, as well as liaising with the other project officers. The role will involve working directly with stakeholders across the Council and so a friendly and professional approach is required.
Core duties will include providing appropriate technical advice, assessment and management of data, production of reports, writing of funding bids, project development and delivery. A good level of knowledge of utility and environmental/climate initiatives would be required. The individual in post will be expected to be able to manage their time effectively. Attention to detail, with a through and meticulous approach is also required. In addition, the post requires a variety of skills and experience as set out in the job description and person specification.

The job involves driving a HGV refuse collection vehicle, being responsible for routine inspections, maintenance and cleansing of the vehicle.&nbsp; As part of the role you will complete all necessary paperwork and lead and also assist a small team involved in the collection of refuse.&nbsp;

To apply you will need to have at least 1 years’ experience in a HGV driving role, &nbsp;you will have proven experience of manual handling and be capable of walking long distances and pulling and emptying refuse bins when required.

With emphasis on actions before waste is generated the HWP is working to reduce the amount of waste that needs to be recycled or disposed of.In 2016 the HWP’s remit was expanded to cover operation of the award-winning Hertfordshire Fly Tipping Group, a multiagency task force which, in addition to Hertfordshire’s local authorities, also includes the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Hertfordshire Constabulary, the Environment Agency and the National Farmers’ Union.<h4>About the role</h4>This senior post leads programmes of work to develop both the Hertfordshire Waste Partnership (HWP) and the Hertfordshire Fly Tipping Group (FTG) with an emphasis on joint working solutions to common problems to arrive at multi agency solutions where possible with a heavy emphasis on securing efficiencies and added value.As such the post holder works at numerous stages with high levels of personal responsibility and accountability supporting colleagues ranging from frontline officers working directly on service delivery up to and including Heads of Service, Directors, Chief Executives, Portfolio Holders and Council Leaders.You will also:<ul><li>Manage a programme of integrated work to harmonise contracts for collection, recycling/composting, treatment and disposal of waste through better procurement and integrated contract management. This also includes leading discussions over joint decision-making by the 11 local authorities, including the formation of new governance arrangements for Hertfordshire liaising with senior officers and elected Members.</li><li>Responsible for the operation and membership of the Hertfordshire Fly Tipping Group, including the facilitation of the quarterly meetings, production of the relevant agendas and supporting papers, as well as designing, implementing and monitoring the annual work programme.</li><li>Responsible for providing effective support, communication and co-ordination between other officers and Members in the county council and the 10 borough and district councils. Duties include the preparation of agendas, as well as the lead author on reports and minutes, liaison with attendees, organisation of the meeting, giving advice to the Chairmen and other Members and officers at the meetings.</li><li>Represent the Partnership to stakeholders including public and government agencies and commercial interests, promoting the aims and objectives of the Partnership and HWP waste strategy.
