About the role&nbsp;
We are looking for four&nbsp;candidates&nbsp;to join our&nbsp;specialist teams&nbsp;within Housing Asset Management&nbsp;in these new roles created&nbsp;following a recent team redesign. These are&nbsp;exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving housing standards and supporting energy efficiency initiatives across the district.&nbsp;
You will&nbsp;provide&nbsp;technical advice&nbsp;and guidance related to your&nbsp;specialist&nbsp;area,&nbsp;respond to customer service requests and complaints ensuring a high standard of service delivery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

About you&nbsp;
You’ll&nbsp;bring a degree (or equivalent qualification) in construction or surveying, or substantial experience in a similar role. A solid understanding of relevant&nbsp;regulations, building safety legislation, and compliance requirements within social housing is essential, along with experience in managing contractors and monitoring works.&nbsp;
We’re&nbsp;looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills, combined with the ability to analyse data and produce clear,&nbsp;accurate&nbsp;reports.&nbsp;You’ll&nbsp;also need a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle to carry out site visits.&nbsp;

The Homelessness and Housing Needs Team is looking for a Housing Needs Triage Officer to join our team to be the first point of contact for households in the borough who have a housing need and to triage households so that they are then assessed by the most relevant parts of the service.
Responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>To provide a triage services via telephone, email and using our online case management system to households who have a housing need and to households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness</li>
<li>To provide a first point of contact for the Housing Online and Allocations services</li>
<li>To provide initial housing advice to households and details of suitable housing options in the private and public sector, including information on homelessness prevention</li>
<li>To respond to all of the referrals that the Council receives under the Duty to Refer, making initial inquiries and triaging as appropriate</li>
<li>To make emergency accommodation bookings on behalf of the Homelessness Prevention Officers</li>
<li>To provide effective operational and administration support within the Homelessness and Housing Needs Team, including telephone calls to applicants to gather information, making third party enquiries, writing letters, taking notes, responding to emails and updating applicant records</li>
</ul>
Relevant experience in frontline/ operational Homelessness services is desirable.

We are looking for a highly motivated team player to join our Housing Options Team.
The Housing Options Team areresponsible for preventing and relieving homelessness under the Homelessness Reduction Action 2017 and as well as managing the Council’s Housing Register.
You will support Housing Options Manager and the Options Team in fulfilling the Council’s statutory duty to prevent and relieve homelessness for those approaching the Council as homeless or threatened with homelessness.
This will involve managing your own caseload and supporting the other Housing Options Officers in their work. You will also support the Housing Options Manager in staff supervision, liaising with other statutory and voluntary partners and in managing reviews, appeals and complaints.
This is a challenging, varied and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to help maintain and develop an already high performing service, as well as enhance your own skills and expertise.
Your experience of working in a challenging front line homelessness service will help you to remain calm under pressure while delivering the highest levels of customer service.
You will have an excellent knowledge of the homelessness legislation and excellent IT skills and be able to keep accurate records and meet deadlines.&nbsp;
We are looking for someone who will provide excellent customer care and be sensitive to customer needs but still ask searching questions when necessary.
Whilst the role will mainly be Office based initially for training purposes, the role is hybrid, combining home and office working.

You will manage staff, oversee operational delivery, and ensure regulatory requirements are applied consistently across the borough. Working closely with the Senior Management Team, you will help shape service priorities, improve systems and deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service that makes a real difference to residents' lives in Hackney.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Environmental Health Officer with significant experience in property licensing and team management, although candidates with equivalent professional qualifications and relevant experience will also be considered. They will have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks, and excellent communication skills, enabling them to engage effectively with residents, colleagues, councillors, and external stakeholders. Experience of enforcement actions, tribunal processes, appeals, and using Metastreet software would be desirable.
