Band F (SCP 12 – 19) - £28,598 - £32,061 per annum 37 hours per week, Permanent
A unique opportunity is available to join our award-winning Housing Options Team and provide advice and assistance to households experiencing homelessness.
We are looking for an individual who is determined to break down barriers in order to find creative and innovative solutions to complex issues, that will prevent vulnerable households from becoming homeless. You will have the opportunity to use homeless legislation, policy and procedure to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people.
Key responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>Assessing housing and support needs for applicants who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.</li>
<li>Working with a wide range of partner agencies to find solutions to address the support and housing needs of applicants.</li>
<li>Working with applicants and partners in order to agree personalised housing plans.</li>
<li>Making statutory decisions regarding homelessness in accordance with current legislation.</li>
<li>Taking proactive steps to reduce rough sleeping and prevent homelessness.</li>
<li>Managing our waiting list and nomination agreements with registered providers.</li>

Housing AssistantPermanent, 37 hours per week£26,824 - £31,022 per annum (depending on skills and experience)This is an exciting opportunity to join the Shared Housing Service working for both Wychavon and Malvern Hills District Council/s as a Housing Assistant, supporting the Strategic Housing Team. This role is a permanent role, 37 hours working from Monday through to Friday. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment dealing with customer enquiries and liaising with external agencies.The ability to use all Microsoft packages would be advantageous.About youThe successful candidate will:<ul><li>Hold a GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification)</li><li>Have a strong customer focus and be able to adapt their behaviour to communicate with the customer in a way that suits the customer’s needs</li><li>Be able to use Microsoft programmes, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint</li><li>Assist either Housing Options, Private Sector Housing or the Strategic Housing Teams to undertake administrative duties</li><li>Maintain the computerised systems used by the Housing Service</li><li>Actively promote services available to the public/stakeholders and keep information up to date</li><li>Provide advice to members of the public in respect of all aspects of Housing. This could be via telephone, email, web forms, in person or home visits.</li><li>Support the Principal Housing Officers to effectively monitor service delivery and report performance on a quarterly basis.</li><li>Submit government returns for various aspects of the Housing Service on the Governments central portal – DELTA.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of reports.</li><li>Attend Council meetings and meetings with statutory/voluntary agencies as required.</li><li>Raise purchase orders when services are purchased, raise invoices when the Local Authority is charging for services, and processing invoices for payment.</li><li>Raise sundry debtor accounts and monitor payments, to ensure effective use of Council funds.</li><li>The ability to undertake site and home inspections.
