The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Options team for a housing options admin officer.&nbsp; The main purpose of the role is to provide support Lancaster City Council’s housing options team which provides a homeless and housing advice service to vulnerable residents throughout the Lancaster district. The team’s aim is to assist residents to remain in their accommodation, prevent homelessness and provide accommodation to those the local housing authority owes a rehousing duty if homelessness cannot be prevented. Applications are sought from persons having relevant experience.&nbsp; Your role will involve providing triage and full administrative support to the Housing Options team staff.&nbsp;
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and motivated flexible person “with a can do” attitude who responds well to working under pressure in a small team environment.&nbsp; We require someone who can demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care and a top quality service to members of the public.&nbsp; You will be a member of a busy team and be responsible for triage and a full range of administrative duties.&nbsp; You should be a proficient IT user.&nbsp; You will also be required to have a sensitive and discrete approach to confidential information, as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
This post is 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday and will be based at Lancaster Town Hall.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
For internal applicants, this role will be considered for a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to. When this role comes to an end, the successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role.

The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the City Council’s Health and Housing Service to join the busy Housing Options Team to support household subject to domestic abuse.&nbsp; Applicants are sought
Ideally with some previous experience of working within a domestic abuse organisation but not essential and/or persons having experience of a wide range of Welfare Rights and/or debt counselling work and/or providing support to vulnerable people with housing and other complex issues.&nbsp; Your role will involve providing the first point of contact for clients and agencies contacting the Housing Options Team.&nbsp;
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and motivated person who responds well to working in a pressurised environment, who can work to deadlines and targets and who can demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care and top-quality service.
You will be a member of a busy team responsible for working with and supporting clients to either maintain existing accommodation or access the private rented sector. You will also assist clients to explore the full range of housing options available through the Housing Options team in order to prevent homelessness. &nbsp;You will be required to provide outreach drop-in sessions in the community as and when required to enhance access to the service.
In addition to providing advice to members of the public on housing options, you will have a key role in monitoring the authority’s temporary accommodation and assisting move on from temporary accommodation to more permanent housing.
You will have the ability to establish good working relationships with Private Rented Sector Landlords, Registered Providers of Social Housing, local stakeholders and Council Officers. A good understanding of the Homelessness legislation and housing issues is desirable. You will be a proficient IT user with an excellent command of written English, as well as an experienced communicator with a background of working within an organisation responsible for assessing housing need. &nbsp;The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced CRB clearance.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing and improving our core housing systems, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver efficient, responsive service. You’ll support the transition to our new Housing One system, balancing business-as-usual with exciting project work. This is a hybrid role, reporting to the Customer Experience Manager, and involves line management of a small, dedicated team.
This role is permenant working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday with a requirement of occasional evening or weekend work.

<li>Proven experience leading IT implementation projects in a fast-moving environment.</li>

The Role
As an Independent Living Officer you will be responsible for the day to day running of a City Council Independent Living scheme, consisting of approx. 36 properties, communal grounds, communal laundry, communal lounges.
You will be the key point of contact for tenants providing support and guidance on a wide range of housing and health/social related concerns both from the office on site and in tenants homes.
Your role will also include offering advice and guidance, acting in the best interests of Lancaster City Council and ensuring our tenants feel heard, valued, and supported throughout the process.
You will provide a housing management service for the tenants and support them to sustain their tenancies as required.&nbsp;You must be capable of demonstrating a sincere commitment to the support of older adults, possess exceptional organisational skills, be customer focused and have good social skills. You must have a calm, patient disposition with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency situation, whilst under pressure.
An understanding of community care and the ability to deal with any situation, as and when it arises, in an efficient and effective way, is essential. The Independent Living team is a large, dispersed team, when required, you will be expected to provide cover for any of our other Lancaster City Council independent living schemes within the area.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to always delivering outstanding customer service, a high level of attention to detail, excellent record keeping and proven ability to manage workload whist being a lone worker and work well in a dispersed team.
This post is permanent. The hours of work are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. You will be based at Lancaster Town Hall.&nbsp;
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to work a transient role around the district, as they will have to travel between locations and travel within the Council’s designated area. As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
