An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Needs Officer to join our busy Housing Needs Team.
We are seeking someone with experience of working directly with members of the public and working in collaboration with others to achieve positive results. You should have a good understanding of the issues faced by individuals who are threatened with homeless or in housing need.
Ideally, you will have experience of providing frontline support to vulnerable clients facing a housing crisis, developing support or personal housing plans with clients, and applying national legislation to the decision-making process.
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on the needs of the people that are seeking assistance, whilst being able to manage customers’ expectations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.&nbsp;
You should be a strong team player who embraces change and is able to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service and the people that we assist.

Housing Needs Officer (Job Share) Council Offices - Clitheroe
Reference: EDP112 Pay: Scale 5 (scp 16-19) &nbsp;£30,518 to £32,061 per annum pro rata Hours: 18.5 Hours Per Week (All day Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday mornings)
The Council is looking to appoint a part time Housing Needs Officer (HNO). The primary role is to advise and assist households at risk of homelessness. The Council offers a range of initiatives to prevent homelessness and the HNO’s role will be to deliver these schemes. The post involves making home visits, inspecting properties and interviewing households. The service offers daily appointments or over the phone advice and assistance, which then requires follow up casework by the HNO.&nbsp;
The role involves partnership working with housing providers, care/support providers, probation service, mental health services and many other agencies.
Excellent communication skills and a clear understanding of homelessness legislation are essential.
