(Environmental Health, Housing & Licensing)
Work Base: Buxton will be expected to travel
Full time (37 hours per week)
Permanent position
£51,356- £55,478 per annum
(plus essential car user)
The Environmental Health and Licensing Department are seeking a forward thinking, motivated and passionate individual to join their strong team to make a difference to our residents and visitors.

- Direct and lead the Housing, Licensing & General Environmental Health teams.
- Act as lead specialist for Housing, with the opportunity to upskill in the Licensing and General EHealth Department
- Assist the Head of Environmental Health with the development of all aspects of the Council’s service.
The successful candidate will have experience in the day-to-day supervision and mentoring of staff in the service, directing resources where required to provide a seamless service to customers and achieve measurable results to deliver the authorities performance indicators. The role includes monitoring and authorisation of holidays, flexible working, sick leave and any other people management responsibilities. You will be required to support the development of our performance management culture to drive continuous improvement.
As an experienced officer you will be expected to take the lead in developing and maintaining Housing, Licensing, and General Environmental Health, and support the Head of Environmental with day to day safety arrangements, corporate documentation, policies and procedures to protect the health and safety of members of the Environmental Health Team as a whole.
You will be required to work out of hours on occasions; therefore, flexibility around working hours is essential, as is a full driving licence and use of a car for work.
Successful candidate will be employed by High Peak Borough Council; contractual work base is Buxton Town Hall however will be expected to travel across all Alliance geographical locations.
