Hackney Council is looking for experienced LGV driver's to work with us. As an LGV Driver you will be supporting our waste services including street cleansing, waste transfer station, gully cleaning, winter gritting and our refuse and recycling teams. This is a key part of our work to make Hackney cleaner, safer and greener - a place for everyone.
We need someone capable of driving a variety of Category C vehicles including specialist vehicles such as roll on, skips and mechanical brooms. Our teams operate across the borough, with colleagues working throughout the day and night all year round. From graffiti removal to dealing with stray dogs and fly tipping, you will take charge of a variety of tasks that are important to everyone who lives, works and visits Hackney.
Day to day your work will include inspecting your vehicle and taking responsibility for ensuring work is carried out securely and safely. This involves maintaining driver records and incident reports. We need someone able to follow instructions and pass on information to others. You will be required to use digital devices to record work.
You should take pride in your work, have an excellent approach to customer service and enjoy liaising with members of the public. You must be keen to learn new skills and be willing to offer suggestions on ways we might improve. You will need experience of delivering waste and cleaning services and be able to demonstrate safe driving and operating techniques. You should also have experience of carrying out and recording routine checks on vehicles and other equipment.
This role involves working in a variety of conditions - in the open air, in poor weather and sometimes alone. You must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points, valid for relevant vehicles. A driver tachograph and CPC card is essential.
We have a number of positions available on both the day and evening shifts, a reserve list will be in place for candidates that meet the desired interview criteria as we expect further jobs becoming available in the coming months.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Volunteer Supervisor to lead and support a team of volunteers, playing a vital role in the success of ENLab, an innovative Enfield-wide Heritage Education project. ENLab will bring Enfield’s built, industrial, and natural heritage to life—making it accessible, valued, and relevant for primary schools and families. Working with key partners, including the Museum of Enfield, Forty Hall Estate, RSA Trust, Enfield Archaeological Society, Enfield Society, and Whitewebbs Transport Museum, ENLab will deliver inspiring heritage education school resource packs, Heritage Clubs, and a celebratory Heritage Festival for families. 
 
This is an exciting opportunity to join Enfield Council’s small, dedicated Culture Team as we deliver ENLab and make a meaningful and lasting impact. You will provide support in the recruitment and training of a diverse team of volunteers and supervise their activities as they contribute to the project’s aim to bring Enfield’s rich heritage to life across Enfield’s heritage sites. You will also help coordinate the Heritage Advisory Group and support the delivery of Heritage Clubs and the family Heritage Festival. 
 
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for volunteering, heritage, and education. You will need excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, experience working with volunteers and volunteer groups, and the ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, stakeholders, schools, and cultural partners. 
 
You may be required to work on weekends and in the evenings.

Grade 4&nbsp;Salary £30,630 - £32,931pa To contribute to quality of life for estate residents by maintaining a safe and secure estate, ensuring that the estate is clean and well maintained. This will assist in preserving the estates assets in a proper manner. Caretakers will visit estates on a daily basis ensuring there is a presence on site, acting as a focal point for information queries and complaints, seeking to report or resolve issues swiftly to the satisfaction of estate residents. As part of our estate services, we ensure communal areas in and around flats and maisonettes are kept clean and tidy, addressing any environmental issues such as rubbish and recycling. We remain vigilant for the well-being of elderly and vulnerable residents, swiftly removing health hazards like syringes and arranging for the prompt removal of graffiti—especially offensive content, which is cleared within 24 hours. We report communal repairs and work closely with Resident Services and Anti-Social Behaviour Teams, we help tackle anti-social behaviour. Our duties also include sweeping, litter picking, removing fly tipping, responding to emergencies, assisting sheltered housing schemes with bulk item clearances, and coordinating targeted estate clearances in partnership with other services. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Solutions team on a fixed term contract for 12 months.&nbsp;
Your role will be to support the Allocations Service with the implementation of a new housing system and allocations scheme. The role will involve assessing and maintaining housing applications on the housing waiting list.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who possesses exceptional organisational skills as well as excellent attention to detail. Applicants will also be required to have good communication skills and will work well alone, but also as part of a team.
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with the Housing Solutions Officers to ensure a high-quality customer focused, service is offered to all customers.
