Planned Maintenance And Contracts Management Surveyor

Location: Council Offices, Benfleet

Job Title: Planned Maintenance and Contract Management Surveyor

Full Time – 37 hours per week
Grade: 9 – Starting £48,226

Castle Point Borough Council is seeking a Planned Maintenance and Contract Management Surveyor to join our Estates team within the Commercial & Assets Directorate. This is a key role in managing planned maintenance and facilities management operations across the Council’s corporate estate.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Oversee planned maintenance programmes and facilities management contracts
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, statutory and mandatory regulations
  • Prepare building condition surveys, reports, and budget estimates
  • Lead procurement processes for service contracts and manage contractor performance
  • Act as Responsible Person for asbestos, fire safety, and other regulatory functions
  • Contribute to transformation projects and improvements across Council-owned sites

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and construction-related issues
  • Ability to manage budgets and deliver works within timescales

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in building and planned maintenance across varied property types
  • Five years or more experience in the building and construction industry
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle

Desirable:

  • HND or higher qualification in facilities management
  • Previous experience in local authority or public sector
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and risk assessments
