An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sustainable Transport Planner to assist in managing and progressing an ambitious project at the forefront of transport planning.&nbsp;
You will help to deliver projects across sustainable and active travel with a focus on shared mobility and decarbonisation of transport.
Working in partnership with an appointed service delivery partner with expertise in this field you will support the planning and delivery of forward looking sustainable and shared mobility networks in Hackney that will accelerate the uptake of cleaner travel options delivering improvements to the air quality in the borough that all residents will benefit from. You will work under direct supervision of a senior transport planner but there will be opportunities to take the lead in some project work.
A relevant degree or equivalent is a minimum requirement. Experience, or further qualifications, in Transport Planning or a relevant skill such as project management would be an advantage. You will receive training in transport planning relevant to your role and project work.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Using your skills in the collection, assembly and analysis of data, you will provide essential background material to inform important decisions.
The role will also support the delivery of statutory and legal obligations related to transportation in a politically sensitive and customer-focused manner such as traffic management orders and Council decision making processes.&nbsp;
The role affords the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity in designing and implementing a public consultation and engagement plan in coordination with the Council’s communications team.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
You will need to demonstrate report writing skills, knowledge of transport policy, a capacity for interpreting transport strategies, and excellent verbal communication skills. Analysis skills should ensure at the very least familiarity with things such as the PIVOT and LOOKUP elements of Excel.
Knowledge of GIS will be a considerable benefit. You will also have shown confidence engaging with and managing the expectations of stakeholders including politicians.

The Reablement Service provides care at home to people aged 18 upwards. Support is delivered in an enabling way so that people can maximise their independence. Reablement support is a short term service.The Lead Reablement workers play a crucial role in supporting individuals transitioning towards independent living. They are the first point of contact for service users, working closely with Occupational Therapy teams and other health professionals to set personalized goals. These goals guide the service user through their journey until they achieve independence. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.What will you be doing?Our Lead Reablement workers support adults to maintain and regain independence while living at home.You will be responsible for agreeing goals with our service users and reviewing their progress, in their own homes. Most, but not all, of the people we provide service to are older adults who may have been unwell or are struggling to maintain their independence at home. You will work alongside Support Workers, with Social Workers and receive support from Occupational Therapists. About youWe treat all of our service users as individuals and put their needs at the heart of what we do. You will have some experience in this kind of work.You will need to have a proficient level of written and spoken English for the purposes of case recording as well as an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship. Strong communication skills are essential as you will be overseeing Support workers in the community setting and liaising with many health professionals as well as our service users and their families.As a Lead Reablement worker you will need to have experience of supporting a person with care and support needs as well as knowledge around The Care Act and CQC requirements. You will be able todemonstrate strong skills in managing and prioritising a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective resolution of tasks in a fast-paced environment.You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as IT skills. It is expected that you will also have the ability to demonstrate awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion as well as the need for safety and confidentiality in the role.The role involves travel across Cambridgeshire, and so you will need access to a car, and have a full driving licence with business insurance.You will receive excellent training and supervision as part of an established and supportive team. There is a car lease scheme and we pay enhancements for weekend working. The service covers seven days and so there will be some weekend working.
