Are you passionate about improving educational outcomes and life chances for children with a social worker?

Lincolnshire Virtual School is looking to recruit an Education Progress Co-ordinator for Children with a Social Worker to join our team to promote educational outcomes and safeguarding for children open to Social Care and work as part of our Multi-agency Child Protection Team to enhance our approach as part of the Families First Partnership Programme.

The Virtual School is a team dedicated to promoting educational outcomes for our children in care, those previously looked after and children with a social worker. The Virtual School supports education settings in and outside of Lincolnshire, providing professional challenge, advice, guidance and training on meeting the needs of our most vulnerable children. We are a busy team and the ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and remain resilient is essential. As is the capacity to build relationships with social care teams, staff in educational settings and colleagues across Children's Services in what are often emotive and complex situations. Experience of working with the safeguarding of young people and within education settings is essential.

What are we looking for?

This is a full-time maternity leave cover position for a fixed term of 12 months starting in October 2026. This could be a secondment opportunity for an internal candidate. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • A skilled and confident communicator, the role involves relationship building, influencing, negotiating, delivering training and, the ability to deliver professional challenge when necessary.
  • An understanding of the unique needs of children with a social worker and how they can be best supported in educational settings and social care.
  • Good time management, working to tight deadlines and responding to the needs of children, education providers and professionals which will involve regular travel around the county in the localities.
  • Resilience and tenacity, this work is frequently complex, emotive and challenging.

Salary range

  • £35,412 - £39,152 per year
