    What is the job role?

    The Participation Team currently works to support and empower children and young people to have a voice about the decisions that affect them. This Participation Worker role will particularly focus on the participation of parents and carers, empowering them to have a voice, alongside children and young people, in how we plan, deliver and evaluate services.

    The Participation Team works alongside colleagues in the development of policy and practice to ensure children and young people are kept at the centre of Children’s and Education services, and play a key role in driving Child Friendly Cov. Key to our relational Family Valued Practice Approach is how we value family and work alongside them, and this role will support in ensuring that the voice of parents and carers supports in shaping practice and service delivery.

    All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

    This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).



    Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for a Participation Worker who is committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

    • A relational approach to working with children, young people, parents and carers and an ability to work with people of all ages (children and adults)
    • A relevant qualification or experience in working with children, young people, parents and carers
    • An understanding of the needs of children, young people and families who Children's Services work with
    • Ability to work as part of a team and to be able to work with colleagues in a range of roles across Children's and Education Services and with our partners
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • High motivation and attention to detail
    • Excellent ICT skills

    Salary range
