About the Role

The Combined Authority (CA) is entering an exciting period of change and growth, and we are looking for a skilled and committed Technical Accountant (Capital) with the skills and experience to deliver a high-quality technical accounting service that informs organisational decision-making and enables the production of the financial statements.

The Technical Accountant (Capital) will have responsibility for all technical capital accounting including leading and co-ordinating the fixed asset revaluation programme and accounting adjustments, and the development and maintenance of an asset register.

About the person

We are looking for a CCAB or CIMA fully qualified accountant with significant experience of working on technical accounting issues in a complex organisation, who understands the financial challenges and opportunities faced within the public sector. You will be a team player used to working collaboratively across finance and the wider business, with strong IT skills to enable you to develop, maintain and interrogate complex spreadsheets.

As a technical accountant you will enjoy the detail and the interpretation/application of accounting standards including explaining the implications to other finance and non finance colleagues.
