    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage, supervise, and develop a team of 6 Social Workers
    • Provide regular reflective supervision, supporting practitioners to think critically about their work, decision-making, and the lived experiences of children
    • Oversee the completion of Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 investigations
    • Ensure high-quality, analytical assessments that consider: The lived experience of the child, Family history and patterns and Strengths and support networks
    • Promote early intervention, ensuring support is implemented during the assessment phase where appropriate
    • Drive proportionate decision-making, utilising community resources and Early Help services
    • Ensure robust quality assurance of all assessments and interventions
    • Oversee the development of effective safety plans following Section 47 enquiries
    • Ensure children are seen within statutory timescales and practice meets legislative requirements
    • Monitor and track team performance, addressing areas for improvement and celebrating good practice
    • Work collaboratively with the MASH Team Manager, providing cover during periods of leave and offering support as required to maintain service delivery

    The successful candidate will:

    • Have significant experience within Children’s Social Care, including management of frontline teams
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge of assessment frameworks, safeguarding processes, Section 47 enquiries, and MASH procedures
    • Have a clear understanding of threshold application and decision-making at the point of referral
    • Be committed to high-quality practice and improving outcomes for children
    • Show the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff
    • Have excellent skills in risk assessment, analysis, and decision-making
    • Be confident in performance management and data tracking
    • Be passionate about early intervention and working with families’ strengths and networks

    You will benefit from:

    • Five extra days to take during the year for professional development; to support career progression and ongoing learning for the MASH team.
    • A generous market supplement and relocation package.

    Do you...

    Want a new challenge?
Want to work in a dynamic environment?
Want to focus on improvement and continual learning? Share our vision and ambition to get things right for children? Share our aim to intervene at the right time, in the right place and with the right support?

Does this sound like an opportunity you or someone you know might be interested in?
