Job Introduction

Senior Project Manager (BEST Programme)

Salary: £56,233 to £60,010

Fixed term for 2 years

Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for transformation, continuous improvement and delivering meaningful change?

Northumberland County Council is looking for a Senior Project Manager to help drive the delivery of the Council's ambitious BEST Programme. Working with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, you will lead complex projects that improve services, increase efficiency and deliver better outcomes for residents.

A key focus of this role will be supporting projects linked to the Council's Corporate Landlord responsibilities, helping to shape the future of our property estate, improve asset utilisation, support accommodation and workplace transformation programmes, and ensure value for money across our buildings and facilities.

What you'll do

  • Support initiatives that strengthen the Council's Corporate Landlord function and wider transformation agenda.
  • Lead strategic transformation and improvement projects from inception to delivery.
  • Manage project plans, governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse performance and business data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, service managers and external partners.

What we're looking for

  • Degree educated with a recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2).
  • Significant experience delivering complex transformation or change programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver measurable business benefits.
