About the Role

This role is a 2-year fixed term contract.

This position presents an excellent opportunity to join the Traffic team in delivering high quality cycle training and other cycling projects throughout the borough. As the lead Cycle Training officer for the Council, you will manage the contract with the cycle training provider, which provides National Standards Bikeability Cycle training to all children and adults, including individuals and groups with special needs, living, studying or working in the borough.


Cycle training and associated projects are important elements of the borough’s commitment to deliver “more cycling, more often, and even more safely”, as outlined in the Royal Greenwich Cycling Strategy. Collaborating closely with the School Travel Plan Coordinator, Road Safety Officers and other cross-sectional departments dedicated to fostering active and healthy lifestyles, you will be part of an enthusiastic team focused on delivering high quality projects that encourage and support active, safe and environmentally friendly travel.

We are looking for a strong and highly motivated officer, who is a team player with energy and a strong commitment to probity, honesty, and openness, treating people consistently, fairly and with respect.

Able to understand travel related issues, governance and processes, you’ll be a strategic thinker with the ability to work methodically and help to and deliver innovative solutions.
