Our Values

In line with our One Coventry Values, we want to ensure that our communities are represented across our workforce. A vital part of this is ensuring we are a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking. We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic, LGBT+, disabled and neurodiverse communities to make a real difference to our residents so that equity and respect remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our Values are:

  • Open and fair: We are fair, open, and transparent.
  • Nurture and develop: We help and encourage everyone to be their best and do their best.
  • Engage and empower: We talk and listen to others, working together as one.
  • Create and innovate: We embrace new ways of working to continuously improve.
  • Own and be accountable: We work together to deliver the best services for our residents.
  • Value and respect: We put diversity and inclusion at the heart of all we do.

We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.

We have a simple vision and strategy that defines what we are trying to achieve, our purpose and our approach which underpin the principles of Adult Social Care, and we continue to work in support of this.

In a simple sense all our work, at whatever level should continue to support the strategy of: ‘Providing support, in the least intrusive manner possible, based on the assets, resources and abilities that are available to people’.

What is the job role?

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional to join our Quality and Commissioning team, helping to ensure that people across Coventry receive high-quality, safe, and effective care and support services, enabling them to live independently with genuine choice and control over the care they receive.

In this role, you will work closely with care providers, people who draw on care and support, health and social care partners, and commissioning colleagues to monitor, review, and improve service quality. You will lead on quality assurance activity, investigate concerns and complaints, support safeguarding enquiries, and work with providers to drive continuous improvement. You will champion inclusive commissioning by ensuring services reflect the needs of Coventry’s diverse population.

The role involves undertaking service reviews, analysing performance data, writing quality assurance reports, managing improvement plans, and contributing to strategic commissioning initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring services are person-centred, inclusive, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of Coventry's diverse communities.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an individual with experience in health, social care, commissioning, quality assurance, contract management, or a related field. You will have a strong understanding of adult social care, the Care Act 2014, quality standards, and the factors that influence service delivery.

You will be confident in analysing information, investigating concerns, identifying risks, and making evidence-based recommendations to improve outcomes. Strong communication, report-writing, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to build positive relationships and influence change.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the quality of care and support, committed to working collaboratively with partners, and dedicated to ensuring services meet the diverse needs of the people of Coventry.

What we offer

  • To support work-life balance, we offer a blend of office and home working and a flexi time scheme.
  • Competitive local government pension scheme
  • Generous annual leave of 28 days, rising to 33 days after 5 years’ service
  • Support to complete professional qualifications and develop your career
