Shape the Future of Educational Psychology in Medway

Medway Educational Psychology Service is growing and developing as we continue to strengthen our contribution to inclusion, early intervention and SEND transformation. There has never been a more exciting time to join our friendly, ambitious and reflective team.

Our service applies psychology at individual, group and systems levels, working collaboratively with children and young people aged 0-25, families, schools and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes and promote inclusion. We are committed to evidence-informed practice whilst valuing innovation, professional autonomy, creativity and professional growth.

The Role

As an Educational Psychologist, you will work collaboratively with children, young people, families, schools and partner agencies, providing consultation, assessment, intervention, therapeutic work and training. You will contribute to a graduated approach through systemic work, casework and project development.

The overall purpose of the role is to promote the psychological wellbeing of children and young people across Medway and to support those whose developmental, learning and emotional needs impact on their ability to thrive. Through applying psychology creatively and effectively, you will help maximise opportunities for inclusion and positive outcomes.

Every school and academy in Medway is linked to a named Educational Psychologist. Through regular consultation, collaborative problem-solving and preventative work, we support schools to make psychology accessible and meaningful for children, young people and families. Alongside this, we fulfil our statutory responsibilities in relation to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and SEND.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from:

  • Professionally qualified, HCPC-registered Educational Psychologists.
  • Trainee Educational Psychologists in their final year of training who expect to gain HCPC registration upon successful completion of their recognised training programme.
