We are recruiting for Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND

Required from September 2026

Salary: Grade 3 SCP 3-4 (£24,796 to £25,185) (FTE-AYR) – to be pro rata

Actual salary: £18,801.21 to £19,528.06 per annum

5 days, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks (TTO + Training Days)

Our Lady & St Hubert’s Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint two outstanding and passionate teaching assistants. The successful candidates will be working with children with SEND primarily but would be expected to embrace opportunities to work throughout school.

At Our Lady & St Hubert’s, we offer an outstanding learning environment and are passionate about every child. We are seeking enthusiastic and creative applicants to support children with SEND needs. We require someone who is committed to inclusion and wants to make a positive difference, has previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly in communication with SEMH. Demonstrates empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills. Can manage challenging behaviour in a calm, proactive, and supportive manner. Works well as part of a team and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Key responsibilities of the role: Provide targeted support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH challenges. Assist in implementing EHCPs and individual learning plans. Use a range of communication tools and de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement. Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff and families. Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
