Service Improvement Officer

Working 36.5 hours per week, the Children’s Commissioning Team is offering the role of a full-time Placements Officer within the Children’s Placements Team.As a Placements Officer you will provide a placement finding service for Children in Care. What is the job role? This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a focused engagement with children who have gone missing. As a Missing Support Worker, you’ll be offering, high-quality return home interviews with children who go missing sometimes as a one off or sometimes more regularly. You work will help in reducing future missing episodes, address contextual safeguarding risks and assess safeguarding concerns. This newly configured service supports children and young people (7 to 17 years), open to Birmingham Children’s Trust, who present with harmful sexual behaviour. The team adopt a multi-agency approach, supporting Early Help, Safeguarding, Children in Care and Youth Justice Services; delivering bespoke and tailored interventions and programmes of education and support.We are looking for a Principal Psychologist, with significant experience of clinical leadership, service development, and working from a trauma informed, systemic and developmentally sensitive perspective. This new role will work alongside the operational team manager to provide clinical leadership for the ongoing development and delivery of this service in accordance with the evidence base and current best practice guidance.Previous experience working with children and young people with presentations relating to harmful sexual behaviour would be beneficial. However, we are also keen to hear from psychologists from other specialties with strong skills in complex formulation, assessing and managing risk, supporting teams (leadership, consultation, training), and the ability to look beyond behaviour. The Mental Health team would like to offer Approved Mental Health Professionals the opportunity to support the Isle of Wight AMHP Service through our casual bank list. We are looking for Approved Mental Health Professionals who are approved by a Local Authority, or willing to work to be approved by the Isle of Wight Council, to cover the function of executing Mental Health Act Assessments in a variety of settings.
This post is zero-hours and would suit AMHPs who work for another Authority but would like some experience working on an island, or for AMHPs that have not practiced for a while but would be willing to undertake the training to become approved by the Isle of Wight Council.
The ethos of the post is to cover AMHP shifts in case of vacancies or sickness as part of the 24-hour on-call rota, including evening and weekend hours and bank holidays.
We will provide you with an induction to the systems used and resources of the island before you will be expected to work on your own, in addition to support from the AMHP manager to discuss any areas of practice concerns.
Post incentives:
