We are transforming our services at Woking and are recruiting for a new role within the Housing Services Department of Leasehold &amp; Service Charge Manager.
This role will be critical in delivering the calculation and administration of tenant and leasehold service charges, major works, shared ownership properties and other leasehold services.
We are seeking a candidate who has expert knowledge in all aspects of service charges and leasehold billing including major works and experience of leading statutory section 20 consultation. You will also be proficient in budget monitoring, forecasting and have an excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
This is an exciting opportunity to directly shape and improve services in this area and develop efficient and robust monitoring and budget setting practices. You will also have opportunities to build trust and rapport with tenants and leaseholders and maximise income for the Housing Service.

The Committee Services team has a vacancy for a Principal Committee Manager, supporting the work of the London Assembly and its committees. You will work in a team that also provides key clerking support across the GLA Group to the London Assembly, Mayor of London, Transport for London, London Legacy Development Corporation and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation.

Working closely with boroughs, housing associations, developers and other partners, we manage the Mayor’s housing investment programmes, commissioned services and land and property assets to support the supply of affordable homes, job creation and regeneration.&nbsp;&nbsp;
About the Strategy &amp; Policy team

The Strategy and Policy team is responsible for the Mayor’s housing strategy for London and for developing policy across a broad range of areas including new housing supply, specialist housing, homelessness, rough sleeping, building safety and the private rented sector. In relation to new housing, the team works closely with planning and regeneration colleagues at a strategic level in the pursuit of mayoral and government ambitions for housing delivery. It also leads on policy development and&nbsp;supports&nbsp;government engagement for major housing programmes, including the new&nbsp;10-year&nbsp;Social and Affordable Homes Programme, which is in a crucial stage of development.
About the role
You will lead the Strategy &amp; Policy team to drive forward the Mayor’s priorities for housing and ensure that Londoners have access to safe, decent and affordable homes. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for a team of 20 to deliver the Mayor’s Housing Strategy and respond to London’s housing crisis. Reporting to the Senior Housing Standards Officer, in this role you'll be responsible for improving housing standards across the Borough by working pro-actively and providing advice and guidance, undertaking detailed property inspections, and taking appropriate enforcement action using a wide range of relevant legislation, including licensing, to reduce hazards in housing in the private sector. With the forthcoming Renters’ Rights Bill finalising its journey through Parliament, and a current consultation across Woking Borough for the introduction of Additional Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation, you will be at the forefront of major changes within the sector.
We are looking for someone with experience in Housing Standards and a knowledge of housing legislation across all areas of housing standards. This is a varied role suited to someone with excellent customer service skills and knowledge and experience of residential property and tenancies. It is important that you have a positive and confident outlook, experience of working with diverse client groups and can communicate accurately and effectively with a wide range of people.&nbsp;
There is the opportunity to undertake a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Regulatory Compliance with a focus on Housing.
The interview will include a short written element.
This role requires the post holder to hold a valid full driver’s licence.
