Why Southwark?

Southwark is one of London’s most dynamic, diverse and forward-thinking boroughs. We are proud to be home to 18,300 businesses, world-class cultural institutions and a young, fast-growing population. As London’s largest social landlord, we manage 55,000 homes and play a huge role in shaping the daily lives of our residents.

This is an exciting moment to join us. Our refreshed Borough Plan and our commitment to Southwark Stands Together are driving bold action on inequality, climate change, community wellbeing and future resilience. Within the Environment, Sustainability & Leisure Department, our work spans everything from parks, leisure and culture to major environmental services and carbon reduction. These are services our residents see, feel and value every day.

The Climate Change & Strategic Support division sits at the heart of this bringing together climate action, transformation, performance, delivery and business support to help the department achieve its ambitions. If you want to work somewhere that matches passion with purpose, and where your leadership will directly shape the future of a major London borough, Southwark is the place to be.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive customer-centred approaches that enhance resident experience.

  • Represent the directorate across the council, influencing policy and contributing to council-wide developments.

  • Support major transformation programmes and the delivery of corporate priorities.

This is an opportunity to shape service delivery at scale and help Southwark continue to lead as a progressive, ambitious and resident focused council particularly in sustainability, infrastructure and community wellbeing.
