 - Lead and motivate the team to deliver performance targets for Member Enquiries (MEQs) and complaints across corporate and departmental areas. 
 - Oversee corporate delivery for co-ordinated complaints, statutory complaints and Ombudsman complaints, including managing the Council’s relationship with the Local Government &amp; Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO). 
 - Act as case management system product owner, working with services and Digital colleagues to improve automation, insight and system performance. 
 - Drive continuous improvement: redesign processes, strengthen governance, tackle non-compliance, and embed learning and action planning with services. 
 - Lead on analysis and reporting—spotting themes, causes and opportunities for improvement, and presenting insight to senior leadership and political forums (e.g. DMTs, briefings and boards). 
 - Horizon scan for best practice and legislative / policy change in the complaints and Ombudsman landscape, translating learning into practical operational improvements. 
 
What we’re looking for 
 
You’ll bring: 
 
 - Strong people leadership—able to coach, motivate and set clear expectations and performance standards. 
 - Extensive experience of complaint handling in a public sector (or similarly complex) environment, including statutory and Ombudsman complaints. 
 - Proven service improvement and change management capability with evidence of tangible results.

You will be based at any one of our Area Housing Offices working as part of a Repairs team. You will carry out a wide range of duties across our varied 15,000 housing stock, together with our asset portfolio of corporate operational, commercial and community assets including schools. You will predominantly be attending day to day repairs, updating stock data, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs. Skills: You need to: 1. Be able to demonstrate sufficient relevant experience and knowledge of general day to day response repairs in a housing or commercial environment. 2. Have good building construction technology and building pathology knowledge together with the ability to evaluate and diagnose what work is required, assess the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs and advising others. 3. About the Role
As Property Officer at Erewash Borough Council, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the planned and reactive maintenance for the Council’s property assets - driving innovation, sustainability, and value during this exciting period of change.

What You Will Do
As the Property Officer you will help maintain and improve the Council’s buildings by planning, delivering and reviewing both planned and reactive maintenance programmes. This includes preparing specifications and tender documents, procuring contractors, managing budgets and ensuring all works comply with building regulations and legislation. You will also carry out building condition inspections, monitor contractor performance and update maintenance plans to ensure assets remain safe, well-maintained and cost-effective.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Assistant Asset Surveyor at Wirral Council on a *2-year fixed term contract.
About the Programme
Are you looking to start your career in property and asset management? We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Assistant Asset Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary Asset Management Team. You’ll play a key role in supporting the management of a diverse property portfolio and delivering strategic asset management objectives for the Council.
This includes support for becoming a member of the RICS.&nbsp; This would include an Assessment of Professional Competence which we would support you to achieve.
What You’ll Do
<ul>
<li>Assist with a broad range of asset management functions, including landlord and tenant matters, compulsory purchase, valuation, and surveying.</li>
<li>Support regeneration, housing, and highways schemes, including property acquisitions.</li>
<li>Help manage the Council’s leased property portfolio, including rent reviews, lease negotiations, and terminations.</li>
<li>Update property databases and prepare plans and drawings for professional staff.</li>
<li>Undertake negotiations on minor property matters and assist with asset disposals.</li>
<li>Contribute to asset valuations in line with CIPFA and RICS standards to support statutory requirements.</li>
</ul>
The programme is designed to develop future public Asset Management professionals by providing a framework to operate within as well as the necessary support to facilitate attainment of a professional qualification. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of functions.
