We have an excellent opportunity available for a dynamic and experienced Development &amp; Construction Project Manager to join our Commercial Property Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.
As the Development &amp; Construction Project Manager, you will lead and manage the delivery of both WBC service and commercial development opportunities from masterplanning and viability to implementation and delivery. This will include utilising expert project management skills to work with multi-discipline teams, Council wide departments and external stakeholders, ensuring the Council's construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.&nbsp;

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Manage the delivery of the Council’s Capital Programme construction projects, from inception to completion, to time, budget and service client satisfaction, and in line with the Council’s procurement rules and regulations</li>
<li>Oversee the appointment and management of external consultants and contractors on spatial planning, property, highway, construction and other commissions which contribute to the planning, appraisal and delivery of development sites.</li>
<li>Ensure all development proposals represent value for money and the optimum use of Council resources through on-going financial appraisal, assessment and production of robust business cases.</li>
<li>Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.</li>
<li>Monitor construction project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.</li>
<li>Liaise with local planning authority, politicians, stakeholders, funders and tenants on all planning and communication matters across the strategic property and commercial assets portfolio.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Candidate requirements:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Degree-level, equivalent relevant construction professional qualifications or expertise.</li>
<li>Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.</li>
<li>Strong project management background, either in the private or public sector.</li>
<li>Good IT skills including office software such as M365, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.</li>
<li>Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Experience of managing construction projects to successful outcomes.</li>

About the Role
The post will provide professional project management support delivery to the AI Programme Team, supporting AI Adoption in the Region, working with academia, public and private sector partners to drive forward implementation.
The AI Programme Team is led by the Chief AI Officer and will comprise of two project managers and a Junior Project Manager by early 2025 with engagement for better AI adoption and capability in the LCRCA, Local Authorities, Schools and Colleges and businesses in the region.
The successful candidate will provide project management support to assist the coordination of AI adoption intelligence, meeting, community events, speaking engagements, conference organisation and team communication and logistics.

We are seeking an individual with professional project support expertise to coordinate and support the delivery of key work streams for AI Programme Team.&nbsp; We are looking for someone to also support relationships with external stakeholders and internal teams to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of the AI Programme.
Working with colleagues in Digital Assurance and Delivery, Digital Transformation, Digital Services, Communications, Business and Innovation Growth as well as colleagues supporting Transport, Health &nbsp;and Social Care and Education the individual will play a key role supporting the development of the of the AI Programme.&nbsp;

We are looking for a Commissioning Support Officer to work with two Commissioning and Contract Leads on a specific time- limited project (12 months) managing complex funding arrangements with the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB).
The role has been approved by the Council as a must-have invest-to-save initiative, designed to strengthen our interface with the NHS Integrated Care Board and deliver improved outcomes for people with complex health and social care needs.
Your work will help maintain robust governance and protect the Council’s financial position in a challenging external environment so coordination and being able to work to tight timescales will key as well as the ability to work with a range of key stakeholders including the community care market and NHS partners.&nbsp;
You will be responsible for:
