Environmental Services Behavioural Change Officer

The SEN Service is seeking to recruit a Family Support Worker at SO1 grade. The post will be in the first instance fixed term until 31st March 2026. This is subject to funding. The post forms part of the Change Partnership Programme and will be part of our Local Inclusion Support Offer. This is a new concept for SEN and we are seeking a family support worker that will be able to work with our families and support them to embed skills started in school at home. They will be able to support families with some parenting skills where there are additional needs that are impacting on the family. This may be signposting to Early Help or support with housing needs. 
We would ideally like someone who has some experience or understanding of Social Prescribing. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the family are able to understand and engage in the education system and that the skills learned in school are embedded at home. You will directly report to the Programme Coordinator. You should be able to work with a range of professionals from education, health and social care. 
We are seeking a committed professional who must have education and SEN experience and be able to communicate effectively with families. You should have wider knowledge of education, health and social care support available to families and ensure that families are receiving the right support. Ideally knowledge of social prescribing would be a useful tool for this programme. We anticipate that you will be educated to degree level, have significant experience of the education, health, and social care system.

Parking is often a contentious issue, which requires a sensitive approach in order to balance competing traffic management demands with expectations of our customers and partners.
Our team receives over 8,000 incoming challenges and representations each month, which have to be considered within timeframes set by the legislation and as recommended by the Secretary of State for Transport. Over the last five years, our service area achieved the highest performance amongst all London Councils, with over 76% of all cases going in the Council’s favour at the London Tribunals. As the Customer Services PCN Disputes Officer, you will need to ensure that disputes and appeals relating to penalty charge notices are thoroughly investigated, and that members of the public receive high-quality and well-drafted responses. Your role will require you to have an analytical mind, excellent letter writing and investigative skills, and the ability to make decisions based on clear parking policies and consideration guidelines.
You will be required to show high standards of customer service at all times, whilst delivering high quality and courteous responses, primarily in writing but also by phone and email. This will include recognising vulnerable customers, delivering fair and balanced outcomes, and ensuring that the right balance is struck between local policies and individual circumstances.
You will also undergo extensive in-house training which will be delivered by our experts, who will equip you with the necessary knowledge. Subsequent Level 3 NVQ accreditation will also need to be obtained.

Parking penalties and subsequent debt recovery action are often contentious issues, which require a sensitive approach in order to balance competing traffic management demands with the individual circumstances of our customers.
Our Debt Recovery and Appeals Team deals with more than 1300 appeals per year, which include appeals to the Environment and Traffic Adjudicators (London Tribunals), the Traffic Enforcement Centre witness statements and debt recovery court hearings. Many of these appeals and hearings have to be considered and defended in front of the Independent Adjudicators and in some cases Court Judges. We are proud to say that, over the last three years our service achieved the highest performance amongst all London local authorities, with 80% of all cases going in the Council’s favour at the Independent Adjudicators Tribunal. Our Appeals and Debt Recovery officers are experts in their field, and they are looking for more people to join us and share our success.

As the Appeals and Debt Recovery Officer, you will be expected to consider and make decisions against appeals lodged at the Independent Adjudication Service and in many cases the County Court. You will be required to investigate parking related formal appeals and compile comprehensive evidence packs for hearings at both London Tribunals and Courts. You will be tasked with ensuring that clear and compelling evidence is put forward to demonstrate the high quality of our parking schemes, and maintain our status of the best performing authority in the capital.
You will need to demonstrate a real appreciation of the complexities involved in many of these cases. You will work to help motorists close cases at earliest opportunity, whilst also recognising and identifying vulnerable customers and supporting them wherever possible. Finally, you will be responsible for aspects of the management of the council’s contracts with external enforcement providers, such as Enforcement Agents.
You will need to show high standards of customer service at all times, and will also undergo extensive training which will be delivered by our experts, who will equip you with the necessary knowledge, and subsequently a Level 3 NVQ accreditation for the role.

The LADOs have a key role to provide specialist advice, guidance and training to organisations who employ staff in the children’s workforce and provide services to children in Hertfordshire. The service has a statutory responsibility to ensure the necessary investigations are carried out where necessary considering multifaceted perspectives of employment, child protection, criminal and regulation ensuring staff are treated fairly and supported to improve practice where possible but also to ensure those responsible for managing staff do so effectively making sure risks to children from the workforce are mitigated and reported to the necessary bodies such as DBS. The team members hold a significant amount of safeguarding experience, the service is fast paced with staff undertaking fast paced and complex child protection activities on a duty basis working with a vast range of statutory agencies, partner agencies and regulatory bodies. Who are we?
Leaways School is an independent specialist day school in Clapton, for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 17. The school provides a safe learning environment for children and young people with
social, emotional and mental health needs including autism and an
EHC Plan. We also have a dedicated primary unit taking children from 7 years old. We aim to offer as close to a mainstream experience as possible but provide the additional care and support needed around each young person to enable them to thrive.
Leaways School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

What you’ll be doing:

<li>Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge children and young people.</li><li>Foster a positive learning environment that supports children and young people's educational and personal growth.</li><li>Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to ensure student success.</li><li>Participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and professional development opportunities.</li></ul>
What we’re looking for:
<ul>
<li>Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)</li><li>A qualification in SEND education is desirable.</li><li>Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome</li><li>Experience in teaching English as a specialism</li><li>Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods.</li></ul>
