What we’re looking for?
You will be a compassionate and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist with a willingness to grow your knowledge and skills in paediatrics. You will have knowledge and experience of equipment provision, minor and major adaptations. Be an excellent communicator and be confident working both independently and as part of a team.
Location
The job is hybrid &nbsp;where you will be required to work both in the office Kaleidoscope, 32 Rushey Green, Catford, London, SE6 4JF, in the community in service users homes and from home on a regular basis.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Knowsley Council’s Public Health team as a Principal Public Health Programme Officer, with a focus on health protection.
The public health team is responsible for providing leadership on health protection and health improvement and to improve health outcomes for residents and to reduce health inequalities. We do this through influencing and working across the Council and with partners to prevent infectious diseases, to support screening and vaccination programmes, to promote health behaviours, and to deliver system approaches to improve health outcomes.
You will be a key member of the public health team, working independently with teams across the Council, and with external partners including the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board (ICB), health and social care providers, education and Early Years settings, and community organisations. You will be responsible for developing and leading health protection projects, programmes and initiatives, and will provide public health input into outbreak management, operational planning and strategic decision making. You will provide public health expertise across the local system.
In addition, you will be working to improve outcomes in relation to vaccination and screening uptake, health care public health and sexual health. In collaboration with public health analysts, you will use data to inform your work, making sure that programmes are tailored to the needs of the local population. You will be adept at working with national evidence and determining best practice - ensuring that local initiatives are built on evidence of effectiveness.&nbsp;
We are looking for someone with extensive experience of partnership and multi-agency working, with strong influencing and leadership skills. You will enjoy working across Council services, and with health system partners. You will be a good communicator, with experience in communicating with residents and community groups to protect health. Sharing health protection information with partners is an important part of the public health team’s role, and you will work with colleagues to design and deliver training to support settings to keep people safe.
You will need to be flexible in responding to health protection issues across the borough. You will be someone who thrives when dealing with unexpected challenges, and is comfortable with uncertainty. You will have a good understanding of the risks that infectious diseases pose to communities – including vulnerable people. You will enjoy working closely with colleagues to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
This is a permanent post. It is expected that applicants have experience and can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant public health practice, including health protection, health care public health, and screening and immunisations.

About the Team: The PDOP Team works closely with other teams here at RBC who are involved with the delivery of Adult Social Care.&nbsp; The PDOP team forms part of the Living Well Service of ASC where the Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) team are also members.&nbsp; A Head of Service oversees all work and responsibilities of the Living Well Service. PDOP is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Social Care Co-ordinators we provide the next step in assessment and support planning to people who are 18 years and over and have a long-term physical disability or are over 65 years old. Team Vision: ‘To maximise the quality of life of Reading residents who have a long-term physical disability or are over 65 years of age and have care act eligible needs using a strength based and problem solving approach.’ About the Role: The team is focused on supporting people who require unplanned reviews of their existing care and support, or who have been identified by the Advice and Well Being Hub in need of ongoing care and support.&nbsp; We operate and adhere to the legal framework for adults; Care Act 2014, MCA 2005, DoLS, 2008 (and where appropriate Mental Health Act 1983 (2007), and work alongside Moving and Handling guidance; and BAOT’s code of ethics.&nbsp; We pride ourselves in working with people in a strengths-based way to; promote wellbeing, rights and independence, prevent the need for care and bring about timely interventions with positive outcomes. Our aim is to be a high performing, efficient, multidisciplinary team focusing on TEAM Reading values that supports and values staff and the skills and diversity they bring to the team. You will hold a varied caseload and contribute to the team performance and positive outcomes for our residents of Reading. The King Edward VII Memorial Hospital is looking for an experienced Sonographer seeking work in a friendly and supportive team which provides excellent care for patients.&nbsp; The hospital is the principal healthcare facility in the Falkland Islands providing primary care and a broad range of elective and emergency secondary care services.
The hospital is modern and well equipped and there are ambitious plans to expand and further upgrade facilities.&nbsp; In addition to Ultrasound, the imaging service provides Computed Tomography, Mammography and Plain Radiography. The service adheres to United Kingdom practices and standards, modified to local needs.
The Role
The post-holder will act autonomously as the independent ultrasound practitioner providing a high quality and comprehensive ultrasound service within agreed departmental protocols. The post holder will also be professionally accountable for all aspects of their work and for managing their own workload competently to ensure a high standard of care is maintained for patients, as well as providing a high level of support for clinical and non-clinical staff alike as necessary.
The Person

Post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound</li>
<li>Relevant first degree, for example diagnostic radiography, midwifery etc</li>
<li>5 years’ experience as a qualified Sonographer including obstetrics, gynaecology and general medical</li>
<li>Registration with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent national registration body</li>
<li>Demonstrably good communication skills, including the ability to communicate information clearly in a variety of formats to colleagues, service usersand members of the public etc</li>
</ul>
The Package

<li>A base salary of £42,641 to £52,555 (dependent upon experience)</li>
<li>A gratuity (lump sum) payment on completion of contract equivalent to 25% of the total salary value of the contract.</li>

About the role:
<ul>
<li>Onsite, full-time during the school year (39 weeks, and no travelling between different sites)</li>
<li>Permanent contract</li>
<li>Start Date:&nbsp;January 2025</li>
<li>Salary: £36,445 - £43,959 (points 28-35 on the Abbey School Professional Pay Scale). Salary is dependent on qualification and number of years post qualification experience.</li>
<li>Salary is not pro-rata – although onsite hours are term time only, salary is split evenly across 12 months and paid the same every month.</li>
<li>You will work within our trans disciplinary team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Behaviour Analysts</li>
<li>Small caseload – you will be responsible for a small number of classes with 6-7 pupils per class. You will work closely with the class-based staff and other onsite professionals in a pupil centred model.</li>
<li>Hands on - you will see your classes every week and&nbsp;maintain continual support of pupils in your caseload across the school year&nbsp;without pressure to discharge</li>
<li>Please note&nbsp;this role is not suitable for newly qualified Speech and Language Therapists</li>
</ul>
Key responsibilities:

<li>Deliver specialised speech, language, and communication support to children and young people (aged 4-19) with complex autism, learning difficulties, and behaviours that challenge, within a school setting. &nbsp;</li>
<li>Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure every pupil's needs are understood, accurately planned for, and closely monitored.</li>
<li>Empower teaching staff with expert advice to support pupils' communication development, driving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.</li>
<li>Provide both direct and indirect therapy to individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring tailored care and support.</li>

You will be able to experience working with children who are Neurodivergent, a diagnosis of learning disabilities and a wide variety of physical and progressive conditions.
The service works with children in their home by delivering intervention and support through assessments, advice, equipment, adaptations and moving and handling risk and care plans.&nbsp; &nbsp;
Our aim is to also provide training and advice to parents/carers and give them the tools to develop each child's individual needs by equipping them with the skills to support them in their home.
We work in close partnership with colleagues in health, education and SEND to provide a high-quality service.
