
Finance Officer
Permanent – Full time
Location: Lynton House
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for a Finance Officer. You will provide an effective, customer focused support service to users of the finance service, responding to and resolving service requests and queries, ensuring that efficient, accurate and timely end-to-end processes are adhered to.
You will support the delivery of the wider aspects of the closure of accounts and the delivery of an efficient and effective cash management and reconciliation service.
Key Activities -
- Work with the Principal Accountant keeping them informed of process, system or performance issues.
- Advise the Team Leader on areas of the service where improvements could be made, making recommendations to improve processes and efficiency.
- Ensure priorities are met.
- Respond to and resolve service requests and queries.
- Maintain proper control accounts, undertake bank reconciliations, clear suspense account, process unpaid items and deal with ad hoc banking issues in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Be a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or have significant experience in the finance service or a large, complex organisation.
- Have broad knowledge of relevant regulations as they relate to the activities of the finance service.
- Have working experience and knowledge of cash management banking process and reconciliations.
- Have the ability to work well in a demanding environment and organise your time efficiently.
- Be able to collate, produce and present information using statistical data to enhance understanding and decision making.
- Have experience and proven ability to identify service improvements and manage change.

Salary range
- £35,520 - £36,585 per year
