The Council’s Street Care Service is responsible for the cleanliness of the Borough of Chelmsford. This is a wide ranging Service geared toward improving the quality of the environment by improving litter standards, removing the nuisance created by fly-tipping, graffiti and fly-posting and improving feelings of safety and security to create a sense of care and respect for the place in which people live, work and visit.
A key role in these activities is the operation of our fleet of mechanised road sweepers which are responsible for dealing with over 1300km of roadways. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to play a key role in helping us ensure that the infrastructure of the borough that the Council is responsible for, is kept to the best standard possible by using a full range of mechanised sweepers.
Based at our Freighter House depot in Springfield, the post holder would normally be expected to work the following hours at 37 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 06:00am – 2:00pm, Friday 06:00am to 1:30pm
It should be noted however that some flexibility will be required, including occasional early or later starts, or the requirement to work on a week-end or bank holiday.

HR Business Partner

Working in the heart of the Council, you’ll provide proactive HR support to our People &amp; Places service, including &nbsp;advice on a wide variety of employee relations matters. You’ll need to understand the services needs and challenges to be able to provide appropriate solutions, so ability to build strong working relationships with managers is essential.
You’ll develop our supportive and empowering culture here at Sevenoaks and ensure a consistent approach through the application of HR policies and practices. &nbsp;
As HR Business Partner, you’ll support the HR Assistant to develop and grow in their role, providing them exposure to different HR disciplines. Ideally, you will have worked in the HR Business Partner role before and you will have experience of dealing with complex employee matters. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to be involved in exciting HR projects, not least preparing the organisation for Local Government Reorganisation.
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).

About the role
We have a rare vacancy in one of the 5 teams for a Team Manager within West Kent Children in Care Service, based at Worrall House in Kings Hill, West Malling. West Kent covers the districts of Sevenoaks, Swanley, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge &amp; Malling and Maidstone. This is a hybrid working role offering you the opportunity of a good work-home life balance.
Leading a close-knit team of 5/6 social workers, you will be a champion of social work values, delivering and improving services and outcomes for children and young people. Your day to day support and high-quality caseload supervision will ensure your team can meet the complex and changing demands of the service, as well as enable their ongoing development. Working in partnership with a broad range of agencies, you will contribute to the development of Children’s Social Work Services procedures and policies. You will need to be Social Work England registered with a Social Work degree (Dip SW or equivalent social work degree). You should have extensive post qualification experience, including experience of supervising staff and in depth knowledge of legislation, policy and practice relating to Children as well as have a good understanding of social work theories and how they are applied to the Kent Practice Framework.&nbsp;
You will have either management experience or specialist and extensive knowledge of this particular service user group.&nbsp;This experience should include; children’s safeguarding processes, working with children in care inc. Team Manager - West Kent Children in Care Service

We are seeking an Innovation Centre Manager to play a key role in managing Medway Innovation Centre and Medway Innovation Studios supporting businesses and the economy of Medway. You will be required to manage all aspects of the Innovation Centre Medway (ICM) and Innovation Studio Medway (ISM). This will include maximising sales, marketing, tenant contracts and management, budget management, monitoring, P&amp;L and invoicing, procurement, property and contractor management, data centre IT, team management, tenant management and operational running of the ICM café. You will liaise with stakeholders in a way that promotes the vision and values of the CouncilCareer Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly. If successful, the salary you will be offered will be at level B unless, based on an assessment against the CPF criteria, you demonstrate that you are meeting the criteria of level C.
