Housing Income Officer
£27,711 - £32,654 per annum (pay award pending)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, compassionate and empathetic candidate to join the Housing Income Team in the important role of Housing Income officer. You will be joining a team who are dedicated in ensuring it reaches high levels of income collection, whilst at the same time collecting with care.&nbsp;
You will be supporting customers in ensuring they have all benefits in place including universal credit housing costs, housing benefits, council tax reduction, enabling access to household support funds, referrals for specialist support, where a need is identified.&nbsp;
Whilst the role is primarily to ensure rent is collected and enforcing breach of tenancy conditions for non-payment of rent, you will be working in an environment where all possible support is offered in particular during the recovery process.&nbsp;
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in income recovery, have an existing knowledge of welfare benefits and giving budgeting advice (although training will be provided), have excellent team and communication skills.&nbsp;&nbsp;
You must be hardworking with an eye for detail and have a genuine passion for working together as part of a team to provide the best service possible to our customers.&nbsp;

About the role 
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join Wirral’s Youth Justice Service as a Youth Justice Team Worker to join our team who are based at Solar Campus in Wirral.
In this role, you’ll develop your skills as a competent youth justice practitioner and support vulnerable children and young people within a multi-agency approach.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a caseload of young people who are at risk of involvement in criminality or involved in the criminal justice system.
The role will involve delivering high quality reports, assessments and interventions for children and young people involved in the criminal justice system.
You will contribute to the work of an established and developing Youth Justice Team, applying your skills, knowledge and professional judgement helping to ensure seamless service to the children &amp; families who often have multiple and complex needs.
Although Wirral has a dedicated Court Officer, this role would be suitable for someone who is looking to develop their Court experience by supporting the work already being done by us in Courts.
The successful candidate will therefore be based in Merseyside Youth Court (Liverpool) a minimum of once a week, in additional to direct work with children and families in Wirral.

About the candidate
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a commitment to a young person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
You'll need to be able to demonstrate evidence of training in related areas as well as a good standard of education and have experience working in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner.
Your experience should include Collaborative work with other agencies, experience of working in a team and substantial experiences of direct work with young people and their families.
You will need a track record of working with challenging behaviour as well as Service planning skills, including assessment, monitoring and review.
You will have a strong CHILD-FIRST ethos.
You will have knowledge and understanding of restorative justice principles.
Above all, you will be looking to improve the lives of children by working with them to build on their strengths and promote a childhood free from the criminal justice system.
