    Join our dynamic team at Brighton and Hove City Council, IT & Digital Project Delivery Team, where we are committed to improving public services and enhancing the quality of life for our community. We are looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to help us drive efficiency and innovation in our operations.


    About the role

    As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with various departments across the organisation, including IT, corporate and operations. You will engage in activities such as process mapping, data analysis and identifying areas for improvement. Your daily responsibilities will include collaborating with stakeholders of all levels of seniority and backgrounds to understand their issues and needs, developing solutions to improve business processes and supporting the successful implementation of strategic goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyse and document business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
    • Uncover issues within existing processes and recommend actionable improvements.
    • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
    • Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
    • Utilise tools such as Visio for process mapping and documentation.
    • Present your findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of seniority and backgrounds.
    • Contribute to project planning, execution and delivery to ensure alignment with strategic goals and timelines.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • CBAP, ECBA, AAC, CBDA, PMI-BA, BCS certifications are an advantage, however not essential.
    • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a structured and methodical approach is essential.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to address complex business challenges effectively.
    • Skilled with process mapping tools such as Visio, preferably using BPMN 2.0 notation.
    • Strong Stakeholder engagement ability.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adjust the communication style to suit diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
    • Experience in workshop facilitation, both in person as well as online.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Additional information

    Remote working with occasional attendance in the office – There is the option for the suitable candidate to choose to work mostly from home. Attendance at the office with reasonable notice would be required on occasion. This notice would be subject to local team and service working arrangements. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
