The Look Out Discovery Centre is a very popular visitor attraction with a hands-on science and discovery exhibition, gift shop, coffee shop and play area, set in 1,000 hectares of Crown Estate woodlands.&nbsp;

<h3>About the team…</h3>
Located on the doorstep of the picturesque Swinley Forest, The Look Out Discovery Centre is a hands-on science centre dedicated to inspiring children to enjoy science through approximately 100 interactive science exhibits and discovery shows.
Our team is passionate about science and we work together to make every visit engaging and memorable. We support each other’s growth by sharing knowledge, refining our science show delivery, and lending a hand when challenges arise. As an Explainer, you will be part of a team that goes the extra mile to ensure every visitor enjoys a hands-on, exciting, and safe science experience.
<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>Present our science shows to booked groups and the public.</li>
<li>Host birthday parties in the science exhibition.</li>
<li>Welcome customers at the door, being sensitive and taking the initiative in assisting and caring for the needs of the visitors.</li>
<li>Maintain high standards within the exhibition, undertaking cleaning duties to ensure exhibits and facilities are clean and look their best.</li>
<li>Facilitate the experience of visitors in the exhibition, assisting in the operation of exhibits and helping visitors to gain a better understanding and advising of their educational content in an informal and non-threatening way.</li>
<li>Develop new skills through a programme of training and development.</li>
<li>Run children’s birthday parties and present shows or other activities that are on offer to the visitors.</li>

An opportunity has arisen within Sefton Council for a casual leisure attendant post based at Bootle Leisure Centre, to work in the role of a lifeguard.
You are required to hold a full - current lifeguarding certificate and will be expected to provide poolside as well as dry-side area supervision. You will be required to work as part of a team, ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care at all times.&nbsp; This role requires constant supervision of the poolside; you will need to be fully focused with the ability to remain vigilant, alert, and attentive at all times.&nbsp; This position also involves the setting up of equipment to meet the needs of the programmed activities and to undertake cleaning tasks to ensure the centre is well presented to the highest standard.&nbsp;
Ideal candidates will need to be available to work throughout the summer holiday period June to September inclusive.
Candidates will have a friendly and approachable manner to always maintain a high level of customer service.&nbsp; Candidates must attend monthly training sessions to demonstrate competency and maintain a valid qualification.
Qualifications
It is essential you have a current Royal Lifesaving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. A first aid at work qualification, AED and pool plant operator’s certificate are also desirable.
Skills and Experience
The Leisure Attendant should ideally be able to demonstrate a level of experience and knowledge commensurate with the position.
