Sustainable Housing Support Worker - Secondment/Fixed Term role until March 2026 
We are recruiting for a Sustainable Housing Support Worker, to work within the Street Homelessness Accommodation Team, part of the Street Homelessness Service. The Street Homelessness Accommodation Team provide housing related support services to former rough sleepers across several distinct supported housing projects including – Housing First, Dispersed, and Shared Accommodation. 
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, proactive, collaborative, highly motivated and ready for a new challenge. You must also have strong communication and creative problem-solving skills together with the drive and passion to help vulnerable people to live independent and fulfilling lives. You must also be willing to work outside of office hours on occasion, be able to work independently and have good knowledge of welfare, housing and homelessness practice. You will have a solid understanding of safeguarding practices .for vulnerable households, as well as the drive to empower tenants to maintain their tenancies, engage with support services via our mulitdiscpliary partnership process, and move on into longer term appropriate accommodation.

Leading the Countryside Rangers you will work with the Countryside Officer to manage Elmbridge`s diverse and extensive countryside estate. The estate covers 625 hectares of land and you will help with all aspects of countryside management including heathland, woodlands and wetland.
A skilled conservation manager with enthusiasm for nature conservation. 
An enthusiastic individual is sought for an immediate start. Must demonstrate interest in nature conservation and possess a current driving licence.

About the Roles:

The principal business of our high performing Benefits Service is the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, deciding all discretionary housing and hardship requests. In addition, the Service prides itself on its high-quality welfare benefit provision for those who are the most vulnerable in our community. This includes income maximisation through benefit take up, accessing discretionary funds and grants and signposting to many other local and national support schemes.
You will
<ul>
<li>Have proven experience in all aspects of the administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, related discretionary award schemes including strong&nbsp;knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidance that underpins them.
</li>
<li>Have proven relatable experience in a welfare benefit advisory setting and associated case-work management, with an in-depth understanding of the welfare benefits system, sound knowledge of&nbsp;national and local initiatives as well as income maximisation and money management/debt advice.
</li>
<li>Be required to provide outreach services to residents and stakeholders at various locations around the borough.</li>
<li>Be familiar with Benefit processing IT systems, customer portal functionality, document management and Housing systems.</li>
<li>Work accurately and quickly to meet high level performance targets and quality and assurance checks.</li>
<li>Prioritise workloads and meet competing</li>
<li>Work well independently, managing their own caseload, as well as working with others including team members, residents, and internal and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with the ability to adapt appropriate to the audience.</li>
<li>Take responsibility for their continuous professional development both within their role and the organisation&amp;©s plans and visions.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of GDPR and DPA requirements and can apply these in daily practice.</li>
