Senior Assessments &amp; Allocations Officer 
We are currently seeking 1 x Senior Assessment &amp; Allocation Officer to be responsible for the accurate assessment and fair allocation of permanent social housing/temporary accommodation. 
The successful applicants will work with their team to ensure that assessments and allocations are made in line with Council’s Allocations Scheme. You will also be expected to respond to members’ enquiries and complaints within the corporate time frame. 
In order to succeed in this role you must be: a team player, have a positive and flexible approach in your work, be committed in providing a good quality customer focused service, and enjoy problem solving, with an eye for detail. You need possess up to date knowledge of housing legislation. 
Applicants with a courteous yet firm manner when dealing with customer enquiries often under difficult circumstances, coupled with an ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise way, will be ideally suited to this role. 
You will have the ability and the enthusiasm to supervise, motivate and develop staff and will be keen to assist in the development of procedures and systems to continually improve service delivery. This will include encouraging customers to use the Council’s website as a knowledge base and the Council’s online customer portal for accessing services and related enquiries

About the role: 
As a Void Surveyor the appointee will be expected to provide the full compliment of surveying services to the Council Housing – Homes department utilising the necessary skills, knowledge tools and techniques required to provide a comprehensive surveying service within a construction commercial and contracts environment. The post holder will be accountable for the strategic management of complex contracts and procurement processes that drive the GLA’s and Programme’s goals, ensuring a focus on delivering value for money and enhancing outcomes for Londoners. They will ensure integration between the GLA Group Clean Power Commercial Programme and other related programmes and strategies, accelerates the purchasing of clean power, solar panel installations on buildings, heat pumps roll out and buildings retrofit among public sector organisations across London.&nbsp; They will provide commercial expertise to ensure this programme is delivered to high standard, provide guidance and support, engage with key stakeholders, and work closely with senior leadership and the Mayor’s Office to deliver the Mayor’s ambitions.

We are specifically assessing candidates against the following criteria:

<li>Previous experience of working in or with a complex political environment, preferably in local or central government. An understanding of local government, its roles, structures and relationships.</li>
<li>Experience of supporting programmes and/or complex projects related to housing, regeneration, economic growth or similar</li>
<li>Demonstrable experience of project / programme focused communications and stakeholder engagement, including experience of developing and implementing communication strategies and action plans.</li>
<li>Experience of using a variety of communications tools, techniques and channels (developing communications grids, utilising social media and new technologies etc).</li>
<li>Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and a concern for order and accuracy</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with external stakeholders and an ability to work as part of a team and to support others.</li>

Programme Adviser Engagement - Council Housebuilding Support

We have an exciting employment opportunity to recruit an experienced Officer to work in the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Team. 
 
You will be part of a committed enthusiastic team, focused on high performance and working to challenging financial and operational targets. You will need a minimum of 2 years’ experience in processing Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction scheme, this includes complex assessments such as Universal Credit, Self-Employed, Students, and Persons from Abroad. You will help those on low income to sustain their tenancies ensuring their benefits are maximised. 
 
You will work using your own initiative and prioritise conflicting deadlines, manage your time efficiently with good communication skills. You will need a good standard of numeracy and literacy, effectively responding to enquiries received by letter, telephone and e-mail. 
 
You will need to understand and be responsive to customer’s needs, always presenting a positive and professional image to the customer, whilst ensuring effective engagement with vulnerable and challenging customers. 
 
We offer hybrid working, however we are flexible taking into consideration personal circumstances. The Contracted hours are 36 hours a week and we offer a flexible working hours policy.
